How many TDs does UT win by this weekend?

If Heard magically gets in shape and Campbell quits holding because he is getting beat - so Nico learns to trust the pocket, then sure, I can see that happen.

31-17 Bama. Hope I am wrong but Oline and left tackle are horrible. Nico not comfortable at all. They will load the box like Florida and the rest is history.

I have learned hard in sports that if you go with your heart and emotions you get disappointed more than not. Best to look at the games with your head and see that this should be a close game won by 6 pts or fewer. Unless you can predict TO's and penalties, which will probably decide it, either side can win.

Right now I see Milroe making just enough plays for the Tide to pull it out. Hope Nico proves me wrong.

I’ve learned it’s pointless to make these types of predictions that give off “feels like ‘98” vibes.

If Bama focuses on stopping the run, it will be stressful game for UT fans with more of the same - three and out and ride the defense. Bama has deficiencies also, they did lose to Vandy. Probably gonna be an ugly game like Florida.
If Bama tries to load the box to stop the run and Heupel doesn't scheme some quick passes then I think we are really in trouble and I will really question Heupel, Halze, Nico, and the WRs commitment to winning this game. Those Bama DBs are not spectacular and honestly remind me of our DBs from 22'. You just knew when a QB was going back to pass that if it was accurate it would be a catch as they struggle in man and play soft "bend don't break" Willie style zone.

I suspect they will stay in zone until Nico proves he can complete forward passes consistently. If that happens, they could be in trouble quick as Sampson will take advantage of them.

I agree. That's the smart D scheme as of right now. Stop the run and make Nico and receivers beat you. And that will be the D scheme we will see every game until Vols prove it doesn't work anymore. So far its worked 3 games in a row.

I'm feeling good about this weekend because people are questioning UT. I think this is a breakout week. Bama has been struggling and our defense can handle them. I think we light them up for at least 5 TDs and beat them by 2 TDs.
We've been saying "breakout week" for 3 weeks now. We've regressed each week.

I believe this will be Jalen Milroe’s first time starting in Neyland and Ryan Williams’ first time playing in Neyland. I don’t think either of them have played in such a hostile environment so far. Also, their coach’s first time as a head coach in Neyland. Hopefully that counts for something in this game.

Although I'm not as optimistic as you, I feel strangely confident going into this game. These teams are statistically similar, and both have a bad loss on their resume. Alabama has a signature win over Georgia but we're playing at home. I think the margin of victory will be a touchdown or less either way. I'm saying it's good guys.

Stop it. Remember what happened in the Arkansas game after many on this site predicted a lopsided win for us. Best to do your talking after the game, not before.
To be fair: some folks were predicting a trap game and Arkansas wasn't really statistically good heading into that game. Even on film they were making a lot of mistakes against lesser teams.

The offense started off well against Florida and finished well in overtime so they have potential.

I will more than likely be eating these words come 8pm on Saturday because I am so used to losing to them, but Bama has looked beatable most of the year besides against WI and the first half of the UGA game. Outside of that, they struggled against UCF, Vandy, and SCAR. They only beat UCF because their explosives hit late. They lost against Vandy and nearly against SCAR because they were not hitting explosives.

If Bama can lose to Candy and almost lose to USCjr they can certainly lose to us in Neyland Stadium.

This is not the same level of Bama team from 2022 and I don't think UT is as bad as they have played. I think everyone knows this is the game of the year (we won't win at at UGA) this is the time to pull out all the stops go for it on every 4th down, run all the trick plays and ball out on Bama.
I feel a lot like you and UT has twice the D than what we had in 22. Also, I would trust our 24 O to come up with a good game and not have to score over 49 to win like our 2022 team gave up. GBO

Too Optimistic. It will be a barn burner at best or a loss unless this offense finally breaks out. I want the Vols to blow Bama out as much as anybody, but I don't think it's realistic.

I plead the fifth.

The last time that I said that we would blow out a team, we lost to freaking Arkansas.
