We don’t have any losses outside of Q1. I think there are only a few teams in the country who can say that. Relatively speaking I don’t think you can say we struggle against lesser opponents

Not at all. I do worry about a slugfest in the NCAAT where our offense has a drought.

But there is no doubt that we are an excellent basketball team who has not lost to any other average or below teams. If we had two late shots go in against TT and Texas, we are a top 10 team with an automatic 2 seed.

I agree I just wouldn’t say that’s related playing down to competition or anything. Just general concern about finding reliable offense.

This team plays good enough defense to beat anyone in the country but our offense can vanish for long spurts which can get us in trouble.

I trust this team because they are consistently good against teams they should beat. With but two exceptions , mainly earlier in the year before UT really developed the 3 guard attack they now have, UT has been a really tough out even on the road against Quad 1 teams. That should mean that UT should be an extremely difficult out at neutral court sites in the tournament.

And don't forget we lost at Alabama (currently ranked 24th) by 5 with Fulky and Chandler out with COVID.

If they get a top 3 seed…….I trust them a lot.

Sure this team has had some offensive woes at times; however this team has been beaten only by good teams………otherwise they have taken care of business

In the first couple of rounds (ncaa Tourney) Tennessee isn’t going to face a Kentucky, or Nova. They ain’t going to see Texas “at Texas”, or Arkansas “at Arkansas.”

This team wins when they should, and for the most part they “compete” otherwise.

Who knows what “will” happen……but when you “can” beat Zona, KY and Auburn…….even at home…….you “can” certainly get to the sweet 16. Can they defense, grittiness, and hustle take them further…….we’ll see.

It’s a team that could beat anyone and also lose in the first round, imo (3 seed or better, I’d feel good with). The scoring droughts scare me.

I definitely agree this team has O problems at times.

However what has shown you……or anyone this team “could” lose in the first round?

The worst team Tennessee lost to was LSU at LSU…….everyone else is currently ranked inside the top 25. The KY, TX, Bama, LSU and Ark losses were at their gym……..they won’t face anyone “at their own gym” game one……let alone anyone as good as say a Bama or Texas Tech.

just my opinion, but if Tennessee has shown us something (remotely like what your suggesting) it’s they “won’t” lose in the first round.

Struggled to the lesser? How do you figure that? 4 losses on the road to top 20 teams and a couple of neutral losses to top 10 teams I think? I don’t get it …

Think everyone pretty much in same boat in upper sec tier...and in CBB. Top 6 teams for first time ever were beaten on same day. NCAA's going to be about who gets hot...and has a few lucky bounces of the ball...with hope refs stay out of it. Have noticed increase of tic-tac calls the past week or so in SEC and Big East.

Defense travels well and if the Vols play tough defense in each NCAA Tourney game and can get just enough offense then it could be a fun tourney. We'll know a lot more after we see the bracket they are in next Sunday. Let's get two more wins this week and get a No. 3 seed.

There's not really any question what you're gonna get on the defensive end from this team game in and out. It's the ability to consistently score against longer athletic teams is what will tell the tale. I still have my concerns there. I wish we had a big guy we could consistently throw the ball to inside and get a bucket, its the one thing we lack from being a final 4 team IMO. The guard play is and will be plenty good enough.

If this team had a dominant post player , I would love our chances . It’s hard to depend on Uros, Aidoo and HH. Not saying they aren’t getting better but they all 3 have a long ways to go . Uros loves to run his mouth, if his game was as good as his mouth , he would be a difference maker, but here we are….

I don't trust our shooting on a neutral court, and even less in a true road game. I barely trust it at home. I hate to say it but unless we start shooting better, we're going to struggle to win a game in the tournament....again.

They just don't have that guy you can depend on getting 2 points to end a drought any night. We had 2, with peanut butter and jelly, and still lost in the NCAA. Certainly we have a final 4 defense which should prevent a blow out, then roll the dice.

Fulkster needs to hang out with Zion this week, I’m sure he could throw on 50lbs in 5 days . That would help our post play 😂

We have one true road game (@Ga) left, every other game will be a neutral site game. Still, with that being said, we have not shot well in 2 of our 3 neutral site games. Of course, that was against. Texas Tech and Villanova, two 3 seeds or better, probably

I trust they will defend and play hard, but the tournament often brings out the best and worst in some players. We are tentative on offense and over-pass at times to a fault. We really need something consistent in the post offense. Honestly when we struggle offensively it has been Vescovi (who has a hard time creating his own shot) or Ziegler who hits a big shot. I’m convinced, Chandler is a very good college PG and I think he can carry us in spurts when we need it, but has either hasn’t quite figured that out or Barnes won’t unleash him. He can create at will and I think at times he should be a bit more selfish with the ball, especially when we are struggling. We should also push tempo more than we do as we get bogged down often in the half court. Our defense is going to get stops against anyone.
