How much impact will Petrino & Saban have on recruiting at Tennessee?

Kragthorpe has complained that Petrino left somewhat of a disciplinary mess in Louisville (even though he seemed to give direction to a team that John L. left in disarray). He takes a very business like approach to his players. He does not want to be buddies, he wants to win football games. When it comes to the program he has tunnel vision. In Louisville, there is little doubt that he benefited from the more lax admissions standards that Nick Saban was crying about earlier this year.

With that being said, when it comes to xs and os he will be on par with the best coaches in the SEC, including Spurrier. I am personally glad he is in the West.

Dont think either will hurt recruiting for too long. Either one is liable to up and leave at the next opportunity they find interesting. Saban better win quick or he will take so much more heat he will be ready to bolt and Petrino who knows he may leave next week cant ever tell with the way his methods have been.

IMO recruiting got harder with Petrino at Arkansas. First it was hard to recruit in Georgia because of Richt, then the Carolina's because of Spurrier, then Alabama because of Saban, and now Arkansas because of Petrino.

Is there enough good players in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi to bring in a top 10 recruiting class every year? Even Nutt will work hard recruiting in Mississippi. Kentucky as a program is on the upswing as well.

Absolutely no effect onTennessee's recruiting! We are already shut out on the 4&5 star recruits..........There is plenty of 2&3's to go around!! Now if Southern Miss or Memphis gets a top notch recruiter, I'd be worried!!:cray:

Petrino & Saban are unstable. Tennessee will continue to get the players to win at least 10 to 11 games each year.

Bottom line Tennessee is still gonna get theirs as far as recruiting goes. Getting the players to play to their full potential well im still waiting for Dan Brooks to step it up

Ahhh, those were the days...

Over half the players in the rivals 100 and rivals 250 have already committed. It's not that early IMO.

And 0 of the Top 250 have signed. How many of those half of the 100/250 will change their verbal commitment between now and when they sign? Lots. Is this the first time you have ever followed recruiting? This time of year is when things really just get going.

Phil is a closer....question is....how many saves does he have left in the tank?

Petrino never recruited well at UL. He got Brohm because his brother worked for him and he promised Bush he would get a shot at QB before he was moved to TB.

Petrino's weaknesses are his people skills, recruiting, and discipline...

Do you want to guess what will be the most important things at Ark in the wake of Nutt's departure... not to mention McFadden, Jones, Monk, Hillis, 2 OL's, and at least 5 defensive starters.
