How much longer will East Town Mall survive?

Isn't this the guy who hosts the Friday night jazz show on the Knoxville NPR station?

Probably - I know he's done radio and public radio for a long time. I'm not in K-town so I don't know about this specific show.

If anyone does swing by East Town or wants a reason to visit, Burger Stop is good stuff. Visit that guy and show them some love. He makes good food.

It's my understanding that the new owners are not renewing leases. They have plans that don't include the stores especially the large ones. The food court is about empty. I think Petros and chic filet are the latest.

I went there with my mom and older sister (who recently passed) not long after it opened in 1984 because she needed to go to Lens Crafters. I was 10 and had never even heard of Sbarro... Let's just say that upon my first taste of their pizza, I was instantly smitten.

Was it Sbarro’s back then? I remember at one point it was Luca’s Pizza (which is now Elidio’s off Merchants).

Sorry about the loss of your sister.

Sorry to hear about your sister. That sucks.

But as a kid, who didn't love "Ess-barro" pizza?
