If monte's kid let him go, he must suck or he's a quality human being off the field.

Your guess is as good as mine.

My first thread!

Um, did anyone see that Glen Stanley, a former Vol commit has transferred to FSU from the school he spurned us for? However, in the ESPN article (Glen Stanley heading to Florida St. after USC release - ESPN), he doesn't even list UT as one of the choices he was looking into for the transfer to?? Does this strike anyone as odd? I mean, he was a commit at one point! Waited all the way till Jan to do it, too! &, we would have needed help at LB. Anyone have info on this? Why would a former commit all the way till signing day not even consider the former school in a transfer a few months later??

He clearly didn't just commit to Kiffin...

If true at least he is doing it for the right reasons. Even if not, he is screwing "The Douche" over so I'm fine with it.

Just to play devil's advocate, if he was really wanting to be close to his daughter why go to JC in Arizona? Why commit to Tennessee and then go and sign with USC?

It has been said multiple times: The guy did not take the necessary math class to be eligible in the SEC.

At the time he committed to Tennessee, he could have taken it.

Now that it is lat July, he doesn't have time.

He is not eligible to play in the SEC.

It appears Stanley may have to sit out this year to due to academic reasons.

Per ESPN:

So much for all the trouble that juco LB Glen Stanley went through to get out of his letter of intent to USC. Stanley did not participate in Florida State's first practice on Thursday, and it sounds as if he won't be able to play at all this season because of academic issues.

"It doesn't look like it from what we understand," coach Jimbo Fisher said. "We're doing some grade checks and making sure."

Even if Stanley can't play this season -- and how could he not have made sure he was eligible? -- he should be able to practice, unless he falls into some category that results in his being denied admission to the school. In that case, perhaps he might move on to a I-AA or Division II program.

On a more positive note, Fisher does expect juco CB Mike Harris, who also missed the first practice, to be cleared. "I think we'll be all right on that one," Fisher said. "It's just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's."
