Heh, I rewound my DVR on this play and my personal opinion is that the referee was a second fast in his count. It was close enough where the clock would have had to display accuracy to a hundredth of a seconds to know for sure. I could have done it theoretically with a real watch, but didn't care enough at that point.

I agree clkou. We DVRd the game and watched it when we got home. Slowed it down and...the ball came across the line, hit the floor (past the line), and was coming back up when the shot clock hit 20. So it crossed the mid court line in less than 10 seconds. Unless the rules state it is the ball handler, not the ball, that must cross the line then the male ref missed (another) call. Someone may have a rule book and can give the specific quote from the book if it is the player, not the ball that must cross the line. I think Andrayah just knew more basketball and was more aware of the game situation than the ref was. No need for anyone to get on her back for his ignorance/incompetence/error.

I'll go out on a limb and bet the AA didn't clarify what has to be across the line in the rule. Should be the ball, IMO.
