Anybody know how the arms are on this Tenn staff seems like biggest concern. As for Delmonico he has many Kiffin tracts mostly being a pr_ _k.We have had a steady flow of Farragut kids to UT program for years and most parents couldn't stand Delmonico once they got to know him.You talk about tough try baseball recruiting not only fighting other schools for kids but then baseball draft and you get killed.

I think the key for this team is for Raleigh to put his pride aside a bit and quit running players off. He had a history of this at WCU even before he was hired at Tennessee. While its easy to focus on the negatives that Raleigh brings with him, there are also a lot of positives that he can provide.

He is one hell of a hitting coach and recruiter. Consistantly this guy can bring in some of the better players to the baseball program. If he would remove his temper and learn to relate with the kids instead of running them off then this program could be very competitive for a long long time.

When Raleigh showed up in Knoxville there was not a ton of talent remaining here. He brought in a bunch of Juco's and a few young kids to the program. I think the key for Raleigh is getting a pitching coach in place (not sure who UT has right now) that can work with the pitchers and develpment from the time they step foot on to campus.

The long and the short of it is he must quit running players off. I remember at one point for WCU he had a pitcher as his 8th position player cause he kicked off all the remaining hitters. He still almost made a run through the Southern Conference Tournament and won it with like 15 players. I dont think his coaching ability should really be questioned, but he has to learn to keep the players.

His best years at western were in the early 2000's when he had Coach Roberts as his pitching coach and had 3 pitchers with sub 4 ERA's and a team that made it to the finals of the regionals before losing to NC State.

If this recruiting class can live up to the hype then they may have an opprotunity to come in and surprise some people this year. I hope for the sake of the program that Raleigh looks at himself a bit as well as he tries to move forward as changing coaches again would just be another setback to the program. However if he is unwilling to take a long look at himself then it is time to go.

There is a good chance Dylan Hochevar might make an appearance as well with the staff. I'd say the top 2 will be as said before, Morgado, then Catapano, then anyone's guess. I'd say this is Coach Raleigh's last season. He's done a poor job with pitching, our offense has seemingly improved power wise, but our pitching definitely seems to have declined.

Raleigh has had plenty of talent to compete in the SEC and at least make an appearance in the NCAA Tourny. He's just a terrible coach.

Delmonico may have not been the most personable guy, but he sure could recruit. He had multiple AA, All-SEC, 1st round draft picks, etc during his tenure.

I'll never forget the '05 team that made the CWS and had 5-6 1st round picks and other high draft picks. Insane talent.

The Starting Rotation will be : Morgado, Gruver, Catapano or Mcrea

" Morgado Friday, Gruver Saturday, and 5 are competing for Sunday"

"we like our depth and finally have the arms - this staff has the toughness we need"

is the word I got last week...

I heard the same thing last night about the stuff in bold. Was told that yesterday in practice that there were 6 bombs hit. Two of which were off of Catapano. Was told that McCray should get that start on Sunday but that Raleigh might not be giving him a fair shake. Said there are still four or five guys fighting for a spot and it seems to sound like more of a good thing than a bad one... Only time will tell.

Stubbs took 2 out and ripped a double. Catapano gave up back-back.
Also, they like the new kid from VT's stick.

Yeah - looks like it will be the 3 I stated and Thurber in the OF.

I saw Stubbs in the fall and they were really focused on his techinque in the cage - lookd like it paid off today.
