How would you rank 2014 schedule in terms of fun to attend?

Hey guys,

as some of you know, I am planning to come over to the US and see a Tennessee game within the next two years depending on how the schedule works.

I was perusing next year's fixtures, and was wondering if I could get some advice on which games would be the best to attend if I could only see one.

If anyone would be prepared to rank our schedule 1-12, 1 being the best game with some reasons why, I would be very grateful, as there is no point in researching what travelling to Norman OK would be like if their stadium, and the area sucks.

Thanks guys.

Florida is almost always loud....should be a good game too

I'd go with Florida as well, however the season opener is always fun. It's the time of year when everyone is undefeated and most optimistic about the upcoming season. Not to mention, Utah State is pretty good. Florida could be great, but it could also be a dud considering we will likely have at least 1 loss by then already.

I'll add my vote for Florida as well. The atmosphere will be electric, especially if we end the streak. If you want to see a road game, Ole Miss is a good option for the ladies if nothing else. I'd also consider Oklahoma if I was thinking about a road game.

If you have never been to Neyland you must go to a game their first. The tailgating, the Vol Walk, and just the sure size of the stadium are all a must see. But depending on how long you are here why not see two games olé miss and Bama are on consecutive weekends. Go Big Orange!

I'm begging the missus to go to Norman for the Oklahoma game. I've got like ~9 months of begging so maybe it will work.

I would recommend the season opener. If you're coming all that way, you probably at least want Tennessee to perform well. I think the opener is your best bet of us performing well and fans being excited. Everyone is recommending the Florida game, but I don't know why. The stadium might be loud, but we rarely give our best effort against Florida.

OP, home openers are always fun because its usually been a long time since anybody has seen football. Usually pretty rowdy no matter who we play. Plus the weather is awesome for some tailgating!

I'd put it at Florida 1 and the opener at 2.

1-Florida we have a great chance to beat them.
2-Missouri love to get payback for two consecutive losses.
3-Utah State a game we must win.
4-Arkansas State hopefully we'll be 2 and 0 after this one.
5-Chattanooga hopefully we have a huge offensive day.
6-Kentucky a must win.
7-Alabama not much fun we lose big at home.

Okay OP, we have to get this right as it's a very big deal for you! My two cents: This is an easy choice for the following reasons:
1. You have to choose a home game for your first Big Orange experience.
2. You want to select an early season game when optimism is high.
3. You want to see a sellout.
4. You want to see a bitter rival.
Conclusion: You want to see us kick Florida's a$$ next year!

Nah, I am on christmas break!

I am so tempted by the Bama game, I really am, but I don't want to see us get burned again. I tend to think seeing the game at Neyland in 2016 would be a better option... Thoughts?

What was Neyland like last time we played them at home, does it become a library when we are down 30?

Unfortunately it doesn't become a library due to the 20-30K Bama fans raining down the "rammer jammer" crap.

Here's a vote for Florida. If you're going to be around for a while and want to see a road game too, go to UGA the week before and make it to back-to-back games.

Stephen, another reason to prioritize Florida next season is weather. The Florida game is usually scheduled for mid-September, which, in Tennessee, can still be quite hot and humid. Next year, it will be on October 4th, the fifth game on our schedule, and it should be more comfortable, particularly if it should wind up being a night game.

Florida is the best choice my friend.

1) Rivalry. Check.
2) Closest game at home vs a Rival. Check.
3) Great weather. Check.
4) You're virtually guaranteed it won't be an 11am kickoff. Those aren't as fun, and the home opener may get that time. With afternoon and evening games you have more time to take in the games at experience.

Yeah, Florida does seem like my number 1 game. But I am very tempted to see us play Ole Miss on the road, partly because I want to see the campus, after studying Meredith at school.

Would Oxford be a good place to go as a fall back option?

Oxford was the best tailgate I have ever been to. Absolutely beautiful campus and the most beautiful women in the south.
