So far, he's all hat and no cattle, IMO.

He boasts that he's going to hire one of the best staffs in the country... then brings the Cincy staff here. Why oversell and set up expectations, only to disappoint?

The Tee Martin non-hiring wasn't handled well. Why not pick Tee and his family up at the airport and give them VIP treatment? Even if we couldn't pay Tee enough, we could have made his return "home" special.

Poaching Cincy's recruits and bringing in a 3* roster isn't going to cut it in the SEC. If Jones can land a Top 15 class that will be a positive sign. A Top 25 or Top 30 class, notsomuch.

He might end up being a decent hire, but I'd like to see him back up all that talking with some results.

Ain't chasing any big dogs? We had 3 coaches visit the number 1 running back in the country on Sunday. We may not "catch" any big dogs, but we are chasing.

Witch Doctor correct then. We are sure chasing many many more 2*s than we are 4*s and possibly 1(one) 5*

Doesn't make sense?? Why would any big dog be burning our door down. The fact is we are going to have to win all games we are supposed to and throw in an upset or 2. Then and only then we may have 1 or 2 burning the door down. A long road ahead but if CBJ can coach maybe it wont be as long. We have to b realistic and know that any 4-5* recruits we.land this year are gifts. Good things to come but will take a.little time.

"If we had known then what we know now" What if we had fired Dooley after 2011 and brought CBJ and his staff in for 2012? You would have to be brain dead not to know this staff is way better than the Dooley staff. I really think we would be looking back on the 2012 season right now with a record of 10-2 or 9-3 and maybe even a bowl win to top it off. With Jones and Co. we win the Missouri, Miss St, & Vandy games. All three just really stupid coaching by Dooley. We lost to Georgia by 7 at Georgia and by 3 to South Carolina at South Carolina. If Dooley got that close then Jones wins at least one of those games if not both. We wouldn't of beat Alabama and Florida although Florida might of been possible with a better defensive coach and a QB that didn't give up in the second half. I just have a feeling things are looking up at Tennessee.

So far he's got a C- (71) from me. He's doing a decent PR job reaching out to the fan base and former players, but getting only 3 star players and a 2 star volleyball player in recruiting ain't cuttin the mustard. He must recruit FAR FAR better than he has so far, if he's gonna last even as long as Doolittle.

What are we ranking him based on? It's nice that he's getting cozy with old players, saying all the right things.. Get some SEC caliber players and win some games.. Then let's do a poll..

I like what I've seen so far. He's saying the right things and doing the right things so I gave him 80-90. If he pulls a rabbit out of his hat and lands some big prospects, the rating will obviously go up.

I'm really withholding judgement until I see the team play. I was excited about Dooley at this stage because he said all of the right things too. Way too early to tell anything.
