Howard Dean Calls GOP The 'White Party'...

I read somewhere that the tape does exist, but she was actually saying "Why'd he" in reference to Bush. I guess one hears what he wants to.

I heard the same thing (about it existing) but my guess is it's better to have a stealth campaign than releasing the actual tape (which is obviously fraudulent). Also, I don't think McCain wants to run that type of campaign -- not that he appears to have any control over the folks running it into the ground right now.

Howard Dean is playing up the tried and true guilt game that "whitey's" fall prey to. Trying to make white's feel ashamed of being white.

obviously fraudulent??

Where do you get that? With the other comments she's made, the church she chose and the Obamas other black liberation issues, how on earth do you think it's fraudulent?

Would you actually be surprised to finf that they're big in race division?

In his defense, if it was real, the story wouldn't have died two months ago. It pretty much just boils down to Larry Johnson being a jackass.

the whitey story may be incorrect, but fraudulent is not the right description. I think it's highly likely that she went there, but the tape doesn't exist.

Do you want to believe she didn't?

No one knows because the tape (if it exists) hasn't been heard, but acting like it's beyond the real of possiblity and BPV is simply wanting it to be true is a bit much, don't you think?

Good point. There might be a tape out there of McCain calling black people the n-word, and even though I haven't seen it (if it exists), it's not beyond the realm of possibility (he did vote against a formally recognized holiday honoring MLK in Arizona for many years). We should remain open-minded to the possibility that he in fact has used the n-word repeatedly.

given her past statements and their membership to a racist church and the type of people of he's be-friended. if you think she didn't say it, then you are truly living in wonderland, Alice. maybe you should call yourself AliceNC.

Let's get real, we all know that the only racists in America are conservative wackos. It's highly unlikely such a tape exists, even though Michelle has been known to say a controversial thing or two, let's not get bogged down with details.

TennNC - I'm not sure what your getting at here. I've never heard anyone accuse McCain of using the N-word. The worst I ever heard was that he called his wife the C-word. I choose to believe neither is true.

You cannot be married. If so, you would fully understand the potential for him to call is wife the C word.

He was simply making a point about the insidiousness of hearsay and, for the record, I think he's right.

I'm not divorced and I still fully understand.

Then we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm happily married and have never considered calling my wife the c-word -- especially in front of a bunch of reporters as McCain is alleged to have done. btw, I'm not saying that disqualifies him to be president, but I know it made me feel a little bit uncomfortable the first time I heard it. btw, I still plan to vote for McCain, although I know some people that are wavering.

such as the hearsay about this "whitey tape," or Obama's drug use in the US Senate, or the fact that he supported Wright's most incendiary sermons, or the implication that he and his wife gave each other the "terrorist" fist bump.

You might be slightly kidding, but for the record, I'm happily married as well and have never contemplated calling my wife that.

I haven't called mine that either, at least not aloud (in fact, I just don't use the c word), but I can fully understand where the idea would come from.

I don't disagree. If any of that is hearsay, the record should be set straight.

Unfortunately, Obama hasn't set it straight and the corroborating evidence suggests that some of it is likely to be true. It's pathetic, but modern American politics has fallen to this lowest common denominator.

I just found the proof you've been looking for.
