It's just so unbelievably brazen. It's one of those things where they know they will get caught, so why did they do it? Surely a coach wouldn't have told them to act like that.

I think it would be hard to prove that they did know about it.

That's pathetic. There was a kid in Knox county ky a few years back who hit the ref in the head with his helmet over a call. He was arrested, these two should be also.

I don't know if charges are possible or not, but both players should have been immediately ejected from the game... and the coach should have kicked them off the team. That IS NOT what you are supposed to learn from playing competitive sports.

My thought, injury or not. That's borderline premeditated assault.

After looking into it, this would be battery, but not assault.

I read the ref has been talking to authorities about bringing charges. Also, it sounds like a couple other players helped set that up or has knowledge it was going to happen. Maybe the coach had something to do with it after all.
