I heard on the radio about a week and a half ago that he isn't happy there. SOmething along the lines of disagreements between the President of the university and the AD. No real other details that i heard of, but it isn't the first time I've heard this.

HE might consider the SEC an upgrade over the ACC as far as prestige. Man, to getr him and Eddie Gran in a deal would be great.:dance2:

Everyone talks about the improvement of the offense this year - well with CP joining the team, sophomores growing into juniors, CJG coaching the RBs, etc - of course there is going to be improvement. But what gets me is what was mentioned, the inability to stretch a lead or pull off the win in the 4th quarter.
This is a direct result of play calling by CJC and after watching his offense for the past 4 years, I'm done. Much like people were done with 3rd and Chavis. When Dooley goes, Chaney better go as well, 'cause I for one refuse to watch his drive-killing play calls in the second half next year...

My younger brother is UGA fan and harps on our offense being too pass happy and passing way too much in the red zone. Says we have solid backfield and top 10 oline in the country. Alot of failing to win tight games at the end come from not running near enough. He gloats about how great our oline is and how envious he is. I think he is spot on

Jimbo Fisher is on Harts list? I find it hard to believer he would leave FSU. That sounds crazy. Why would he leave FSU? could some one shed light on this.

In house fighting, and money problems... He could be pulled away... I'm thinking Arky or Auburn. Then again, I think we are getting Gruden so who knows.

Hubbs last story was legendary. Actually it was pretty stupid to write that. It hurts the university when Hubbs , who works for the vol network speaks out of turn. Posting that story has given the team too many distractions. We knew he was going to get fired. I like hubbs , but right now, if I run into him saturday I will knock that skinny pasty basT!r$ a$$ completely off and he will not even remember what journalism is

Cutcliffe wouldnt be in my top 5 but I would be wiling to bet he would be better than dooley. He took a team that one maybe once a year.. To now a bowl eligible team.Look at fulmer record with and without cutcliffe. Not saying I want cut to be our next coach but we could do worse.
If Cutcliffe was the best we could get....I'd rather stick with Dooley IF we cut the entire defensive staff, hire Randy Shannon + his own assistants, and have Hart state publicly that we will stick with this staff for the next few years and evaluate things as Dooley's last year approaches.

Why? Cause he has recruited fairly well and at least things are solid on one side of the ball. If we sucked at both, forget it. But, I'm fairly convinced that if Wilcox and Sirmon hadn't bailed, this season would be entirely different.

I'm all for us making the splash hire, but if we can't, I say clean house on the defensive side, give Dooley 2yrs at least (so he can hire quality assistants and recruit).

From poster Volquest:

team ready for Vandy? tuff emotionally. not much spunk monday. good attitude yesterday. business like approach. team has resolve and leadership and enjoy competeing. you will see them compete saturday and show up.

players comments on Dooley: relationship and bond on this team is the best it's been. CDD is closer to this team than any team he has had. vested in the season. not going to give up. have not mailed it in.

Mizzou 2nd half: opportunity presents itself to win game they do not do it. cant put teams away or stretch leads. dont get not trying to win at end. did not run the ball in OT. team does not take advantage of opportunities.

Volquest reporting Sunday about CDD future? wrote on sunday a road map of what will come moving forward. matter of time of when it will happen and not if it will happen. thinks CDD was truthful in what Hart has told him. Fulmer dissmissal was too early which destroyed the rest of season.

Break:

Dave Hart was going to keep Dooley if got to 7 wins? Hart was going to fight to keep him if he had run the table. was not a given but 7 and 5 would of been interesting.

Harts list? a guess? dont know. see some common names. Jimbo Fisher is one. Dave Hart knows him. Jimbo has concerns at FSU. its not his AD or Pres. Cutcliffes name would be there as well. see a core of 4 to 5 guys on everybodys list.

Sal's D meetings: trying to pen there hopes on the way they played in 1st half last week. played well 3.5 qrts. cant play cover 3 every play. got to mix it up. if you get a 4th and 13 play last week we are talking about how they improved. Conklin has a very heavy infuence in whats going on

TN O against Vandy: Vandy sack numbers have gone up so must protect Tyler. Vandy Has not forced many TO's. TN must find something that works and stick with it.

Rivalry? credit to Franklin. They make plays when the opportunity presents itself. they will give up yards. did against Mizzou and Ole Miss. they feel like they should beat TN

That's all folks!

tells me i hope hart is not allowed to pick the next coach. if he was going to keep dooley he is a football idiot at best.

Cutcliffe would be a huge upgrade over Dooley. Did you really just say Dooley for two more years? Dooley's recruiting is atrocious this year by Tennessee standards.

I predict that when AD Hart announces what he's going to do that Vol Natrion will have a total meltdown and Freak will have to shutdown the servers.

Most of you OVERexpected what this season should be and now you're OVERexpecting on what AD Hart will or can afford to do.

Overexpecting almost always leads to serious letdowns which many people just can't handle well at all.

HOW could so many of you expect a 9, 10 or even 11 Win season this year with basically the SAME team that lost to kenSucky with a WR at QB at the end of last season?

HOW did you think our Defense would be good when I said 50 times or more that it takes 2 YEARS even in the NFL to get the very complicated 3-4 D down and play it well?

Did you all really have that much faith in CDD and his staff to get our running game going so well in only 1 offseason with the SAME players at RB and on the O line after most of you constantly said all our RB's and O linemen totally sucked and that we'd never be good until we got new SEC type players?

Now you OVERexpect again and think we're going to get Gruden or some other high powered coaching staff that will walk right in and Win the SEC East or the SEC and a National Championship next year.

LMAO!

Tennessee is NOT going to pay Gruden more than the $4.3 Million he earns now for just sitting on his butt and talking football,LOL!

Tennessee is BROKE with only about $2 Million in our emergency fund while most SEC schools have between $50 Million and $100 Million in their emergancy funds and THAT is reality despite how many on here choose to ignore facts.

Get ready to get another unknowm up and coming coach that none of the big recruits have ever heard of if CDD is fired because that's all we can afford right now and it's really sad.

AD Hart has also said publicly that we URGENTLY need a new dorm for our players so where is all that money going to come from because our 40 year old dorm IS also losing us good recruits.

There's lots more factors to be considered than just to beg boosters for many Millions of $$$ to buyout CDD and go pay for a new coaching staff or to pay HUGE $$$ for Gruden or some other solid homerun hire like we all want BuT that's doubtful that we'll get.

Reality oftentimes isn't close to what we really want it to be unfortunately.

Well Titan, UT and Hart cant afford to hire another up and comer or coordinator to be head coach. If thats what they hire then they might as well just kiss the emergency fund good-bye. Fans won't fill the stadium or buy UT gear for another Saban disciple or unproven coach. GOOD recruits also won't show anymore interest than they are this year in UT, which is none. So essentially hiring another Dooley will make sure this ship stays sunk for a long, long time and by the time they realize that they should've spent the money if the expected to make money UT will have been down for so long it will be near impossible to make us relevant ever again. In another 5-10 years kids won't know anything about UT being a winning program. they will have grown up watching Vandy be a better team and UT will be considered on the same level as UK, but without the basketball to back it up.

Second that...not certain why all the "Cut Haters" considering what he did for UT on the offensive side of the ball. Plus he didn't do to bad with the other Manning and Ole Miss. If I'm not mistaken his overall record and experience outweighs DD.

I don't want either Dooley or Cutcliffe, but if I had to choose, I'd take Dooley + Randy Shannon as the new DC (with his own defensive staff). Dooley has done a good job of recruiting, but because of the staff upheaval following the UK debacle, a lot of 4-5* recruits have been taking a "wait and see" approach, before committing. They know the situation is fluid...that's the only reason why this class is not so good.

However, hypothetically....if we struck out and didn't have anyone waiting in the wings, I could live with Dooley staying if they cut Sal and the whole defensive staff, and hired either Shannon or Bumphas (TCU's DC).

The main reason Dooley is toast now....is the UK loss. I think Wilcox and Sirmon would have stayed if the USS Dooley hadn't been hit and started taking on water. And this team would probably be 9-1 or 8-2.

Cutcliffe is one of those coaches who is better suited STAYING a Coordinator. He is not, and never has been HC'ing material.

He jumped ship way too soon and was so hard up for ANY HC'ing job, that he bailed on Fulmer only 2yrs into a rebuilding effort. We had the No.1 QB (T. Pryor) wanting to come here, because he was the OC, and when CUT bailed, OSU snatched him up....leaving us high and dry.

I could understand if UT got back to the top of the SEC and made another NC appearance, and a REAL HC'ing opportunity opened up for him, but he was looking to bail at the first offer. That means he just USED his old team and Fulmer as stepping stones to try and get back in the saddle.

This is one of the main reasons why I don't want him. The other is that the man is as inspiring as a cold cup of coffee. He's so boring that he could give pre-game speeches to put his grandkids to sleep.
