Hugh Freeze looking dumb

Don't kid yourself, Hugh didn't beat Saban. If bama spots us five turnovers we'll beat them too.

Teams don't spot turnovers. When you have that many it's because of defense doing a lot of things right. And when you beat Saban 2 years in the row it's not an accident.

My point was about this years team. If we were to get five turnovers vs bama and win, would you say Bucth beat Saban or rather bama beat themselves?

I'm on record as saying that Bama will have to give us at least 3 key turnovers to have any chance to win. So, I'll take it any way Jones can get it. I'm admittedly not much of a Jones fan right now, but given what an underdog we'll be, if we somehow beat Bama, I pledge right now to give him the credit. How's that?

Yeah. Kind of defeats the point the OP is probably trying to make (as if Freeze's overall success and victories over Bama don't do that).

Fuente took over a program that was truly wrecked. They had won 6, 2, and 1 games in the 3 years prior to him taking over. In his 3rd year he won 10 games. This year he's 5-0 and has Ole Miss on the ropes today.

For talent... they put up a list a little while ago of a list of 6 or 8 names. They were WALK-ONS making significant contributions for the team including the guy who caught the last TD pass.

This a game between two coaches who put to lie the notion that it takes 4 or 5 years to start being competitive in and winning important games.

Larry Porter was a horrible coach, but he is a good recruiter. Porter recruited well for Memphis in his two years and kept some kids home to play at Memphis. Fuente actually had some of those guys on last year's team that won 10 games, especially on defense. I believe they lost 8 guys on defense from last year. The one thing even Memphis fans wondered was whether Fuente could recruit, and he is now playing with mostly his guys. The defense is still weak, but Fuente is certainly developing players. Great coach.

You didn't watch the OL Miss vs bammer game did you? Muffed punts inside the red zone has more to do with the receiving team not the punting team.

They didn't have any muffed punts; they had two fumbles on KO where they were hit and fumbled. And threw 3 INT's

Not much of a Jones fan? That's like saying King Kong wasn't much of an ape.

I think this year it may have been. 5 turnovers with several in the red zone and you only win by 7?

Freeze losing his best defensive player trying to look cute using him on offense was pretty boneheaded.

I thought so as well. And he did this because that offense has no running game beteeen the tackles.

But on VN Freeze is a genius.

I doubt UT will put an asterisk by the win if Bama doesnt play well.

Wins are wins.

I'll take a win over bama anyway we get it. I was trying to make a point. All the Butch haters (under the same circumstances) would likely say bama beat themselves instead of giving Butch any credit for the win.
