Hurricane Laura

We just placed an order with Roll Shield to have it installed across our 3 sided lanai that opens to the pool. We'll be able to throw all the outdoor chairs, etc. behind it while also protecting 3 sliders and a 3 pane frameless breakfast nook window. The idea is that it will turn a hurricane force wind into a gentle breeze on the other side while gently flexing and diffusing. We didn't want the bulk of the electric roller so we went with anchors and a fitted panel we will put up as needed. I also like that it lets light through as opposed to a metal panel. The only negative is our 8-12 week time frame.

@JustFunnN'Orange Not sure how far south RollShield goes, but here's a link for info. Hurricane Shutters Clearwater FL | Impact Windows
It's amazing what they come up with.

I think there were a few that were stronger based on lower bar. pressure at some time during their storm life, but this one stood out for 150 mph wind speed when it came ashore. Brutal.

As bad as it was, Laura picked a good spot to come ashore. New Orleans or Galveston would have been even more tragic.

You work for Ten Cate? They have a plant in my town here.
I do. Are you in Tennessee? I know we have a plant up there. They make a different product, but same company. I'm in Georgia.

No I am in GA also (Senoia)
Oh, I knew we had something down that way, but I don't know much about it. I want to say they deal with some non woven stuff, but not sure. Good company to work for though.
