Hypothetical - would Tennessee take him back?

The only good thing HE can do right now is set up a short interview with media and publicly announce ties with daddy and agent.

If he doesn't do that then no one will take him seriously and will think long and hard about offering him a spot on their roster.

No way. I would be worried about his safety from some of the teammates particularly after the family leaked to TJ Houshmandzadeh that UT was lying when it said Nico missed practice.
There is no coming back from this

You can't. He showed his true colors. What do you think happens if Nico did indeed come back, balls out and we find ourselves in the national championship game? We'd have the first holdout for a title game. The precedent has been set, by him. To expect any less from him from this point forward would be foolish.
Yes as the saying goes, "Fool me once, your fault: Fool me twice, MY FAULT". ;)

Not a chance. Issue now is not even about ability. Nico has completely lost the locker room and there is no way he would be getting it back. There are a lot of guys who give their all for TN who make almost nothing and I can't imagine they would look at this play and have Nico's back. Unless the team is 100% behind the QB, you cannot compete at a high level.
I could imagine that some of those guys would physically confront Nico.
It would put him in danger in multiple settings. Could you imagine the press conferences here forward, every game?
Never gonna happen

If Nico, not his dad or agent, called CJH today and apologized would Tennessee take him back?

Would Tennessee put stipulations on welcoming him back like, your dad can no longer manipulate our success and thus has to “stay away?”

Would the team welcome him back? Would he need to go on an apology tour?

I ask this bc I believe Tennessee did the right thing, however, this is still not an ideal situation. I’m sure we all were excited to see Nico with his 3rd year in the system and 2nd year as a starter take massive leaps in progress. And before you answer, I’m as annoyed by this as anyone but it’s a dagger to lose your QB roughly 4 months before the season kickoff.
Only as a walk-on and scout squad QB. If you are truly apologetic and got caught up in someone elses agenda, you should have no issue reporting to the bottom of the barrell and working your way out.

No and you’re seeing other teams publicly distance themselves from Nicos camp.

A team like Colorado under Sanders is the perfect fit for both parties. Nico needs a team, good chance he’ll have to settle for less money, maybe not but Colorado is an ideal P4 spot. He’ll get exposure and Sanders is a coach that’ll take the heat and spin it as Nico is a good kid and make the NCAA the villain.

For one year, he’s too toxic for most major programs.

Maybe Bill Belichick. Wouldn't that be a match made in hell! Bill would constantly make NIco cry! 🤔

It’s not that it’s cold blooded, but this has garnered a lot of national attention with most being on Tennessee’s side. We’d look ridiculous if we let him back after all the antics like no-showing for practice. Nico wasn’t very good anyway, and you can tell his dad he isn’t welcome on campus, but you can’t end their relationship and expect that Nic wouldn’t still be telling the kid what to do.
I don't care who the coach is, a championship coach would have benched him for this. If anything was lost in the locker room, it was due to double standards. That's on the coaching staff.

Can't get behind a coach that allows a player to no-show practices and keep his starting job. If this is truly accurate, CJH has lost major points and is absolutely spineless.

It would depend on who else Tennessee can pull out of the portal. There’s gaps with Nico and the coaching staff and probably the team. If they can pull out a good starter from the portal they won’t let him come back. If Tennessee viewed him as their best option by far and he apologized and scape goated his agent (family friend) then it’s possible. The coaching staff wants to win and is paid to do so. But I view the odds of him coming back at 1-5% at most.

Nah, Prime tweeted just yesterday. He's not having that circus. If you are too toxic for Prime, I don't know where you go. Someone really desperate maybe who gets in cheap.

Good find, didn’t see that. Good hopefully coaches are joining together to stop this. Prime is the type of guy who would say that and spin it, if it comes to it.

Agree on the cheap part. He won’t make the 4M he’s asking but may have to settle for what he has already or less.

You do not have to pay him what he was making at UT. The schools own all of the chips with what Nico’s reputation looks like now.
