I’m gonna say the obvious…if we play that uninspired on defense…

dude we gave up 63 to the worst offense in the conference
Exactly... being 9-2 with your losses being to Bama & Georgia you wouldn't have people scratching their heads in bewilderment.

We just lost to SC team with one of the WORST offenses in the league and proceeded to make them look like the greatest offense ever giving up over 60. A horrible Florida defense held that bad offense to 6 points last Saturday.

Ditto…I was looking at flight’s to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl yesterday before the game. I thought TCU would lose and we’d get that 3 seed against Ohio State. I really wanted to play the Buckeyes.

Losing always stings but it’s the way we lost last night that’ll never make sense. And then Hook getting hurt was just the final straw.

I’ll always bleed orange and be a VFL but man….this really felt like destiny with the CFP. Now we’ve lost 2/3 and may not even make the Sugar Bowl.

I was more than likely going to that Fiesta Bowl. I have friends out that way I have not seen in over 20 years.

If we play that uninspired Defense??? Actually the Defense has played against the offense all year luckily Hooker and Hyatt were able to score more. I believe our offense took a dip when they installed Tillman back in my opinion hooker hasn’t been the same since. Our offense was spectacular with just Hooker and Hyatt and fant, McCoy it was all we needed in my opinion Tillman I think was to many progression for HH to work through.

Dumb like the other takes that Tillman is actually hurting the offense. I guess you think Squirrel White getting more snaps was better.

I love how how our good season in 15 years turns fans into snooty “playoff or bust” Bama fans.

C'mon man, get over yourself. It's just human to be disappointed given the potential opportunity we had, and to lose it in such a crushing manner. No one is going to look back at a 10-2 season (we will win next week) as anything but a success when it's all said and done, but to not feel some hurt the day after, when it's still raw, is to not really care at all.

People who make posts like that feel like they have to defend somebody or some cause like a hero.

Seriously, is there actually any interest in the the Vandy game at this point, or whatever consolation bowl there is? Is there any pride left in this team? I was gonna spend $ to go the bowl if they won out and were not selected for the CFP, but now why drop all that cash for pathetic football? Love my Vols but its like dating a beautiful woman who will randomly be terrific or kick you in the nuts.

Oh yeah. It hurts deeply but we'll be back to reason about Wednesday.

Still have a nice bowl to play for and everyone is anxious to see if Milton is our future.

It's the way we lost that's the issue. Given the choice, I wouldn't trade that Alabama win for anything. It put UT back on the map, and one bad loss, much as it hurts now, shouldn't derail this program given the leadership we have now. But that was just a brutal, confounding loss.

If you think the vast majority of people will get over this drubbing by Wednesday then I think you are wrong.

If we had given up 63 to Alabama or Georgia then you say the talent gap is still a mile wide. Giving up 63 to Beamer Ball is far beyond that.

Sometimes it's not that you lose, it's who you lose to and how. I predict this loss will look worse next week. Get ready to be the butt of all jokes at work this week and the rest of the year.

I love TN football, but I could care less if they win or lose against Vandy . They seemed to not care last night so why would we care about next weekends game. They had ZERO heart last night .

Did anybody find it odd the announcers did everything they could to say how great the officiating was? They didn't mention once the holding no calls

No, I don’t think I will. Anyone who wants to go from “I wonder how much championship game tickets will cost?” to “do we even care about a bowl game?” is going to get laughed at.

Damn, the trolls are out in force this morning, which is not the least bit surprising. One (albeit brutal and incredibly demoralizing) loss, and we are back to being in the Pruitt and Jones years, as if the rest of the season was a mirage and last night was the only reality. Must suck to go through life like that.
