Yes, it was a good steal and hustle play. I'm just saying, if McBee had any kind of ball handling skills, it would have been an easy layup on the other end. He has no confidence dribbling the ball, which was why he couldn't break away from the pack and slowed it down.

Mcbee is the one who made the steal. A guy makes a huge play and you are mad because he didn't make an even bigger one? It was 1 on 1, if you didnt notice, even our best ball handlers didn't have succes going on on one in transition. Or 3 on one for that matter.

I know it's counterintuitive, but go look it up. Once a shot is taken, it basically becomes a loose ball. The only league where it's illegal for the shooter to be the first one to touch an air ball is the NBA.

Then I stand corrected. But I will say, playing HS ball and coaching HS'ers for a few years, I never saw it called the way the rule reads.
Usually basketball rules like this wouldn't leave room for subjectivity. It's usually black or white.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said I was mad at McBee; it just shows our talent level. It shouldn't have even been a one on one. McBee had all the momentum going the other way with a sprinting start by the steal he made. Everyone else was standing still and had time to turn and catch him because he can't dribble at full speed.

Before I turn into a child I want to say how extremely excited I am about the progress this team is making. I am damn proud CM is our coach.


Now I am going to be that guy. The officials simply decided this game. Three instances thatresulted in 6pts against us.

1) Boss shot a running air ball and rebounded the basketball. How the hell is that not a walk. They scored 2pts after that call with what could have been 3 after missing a FT.

2) There was a clear walk right at the 2min mark on the left wing. The player caught the ball and drug his pivot foot at least 2ft. Sidney score seconds later.

3) Finally the steal at the end. Miss state had 5team fouls while we had 10+ fouls. During the timeout I said this foul to give is a big factor. Boss picked TG clean because he could afford to gamble as a they had a foul to give. 2more pts.

I am sorry to be that guy but our kids fought their asses off and could have won a huge game and shame on those officials that didn't do their jobs..
