Well you see LSU is on like a 5 game win streak and we lost last week. Why would they (or Bama) get penalized for winning their games the same week we lose our game?

It likely wouldn't have mattered considering UGA, TCU and Mich. are going to be undefeated conference Champs. And then you got Ohio St with 1 loss and a USC conference champ team. So we likely would have lost out. Probably 5th if all that plays out even if we beat SC. Just being realistic.

It's not that, I know that the playoffs are out of reach. It's the disrespect that the Vols get for losing a letdown game when LSU , whom we kicked the sh## gets jumped 5 places over us.

Remember, LSU still has to play Georgia for the title and we know how that will end. LSU may not even beat A/M. Lots of teams got knocked out today....Oregon ( thank you Oregon St ) and Clemson. My guess is Ohio with only 1 loss still gets invited to round out the 4th team.

So that someone else can slaughter them. All of those writers are so hypnotized by that old Big Ten mythos, despite the fact that the SEC can eat their lunch with regularity.

We are in Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl regardless

If LSU wins next week and finish 11-2, they are in the playoff. If the lose next week and finish 10-3, we will be ranked ahead of them. This is all but certain after the Clemson and Oregon losses. We should be 8 spot at worst come Tuesday. Hard to keep LSU ahead of us for the NY6 bowls with 3 losses and the head to head.
