I will have learned to hate Rocky Top after hearing it for the thousandth time.

But right now, I don't care, because I just found out that I have tickets on the SG bus trip to Tennessee so I will be able to see how loud ya'll can crank it with your 100k+.

:dance2: :dance2: :dance2:

Just so long as if you do a flyover for the game, you do a real one. I almost crapped my pants last year against Bama when I look up from my nachos and see a KC-135 flying towards me about 2 hundred feet over my head. Auburn pumped up the crowd with quartet of Chinooks that you could see coming for about 2 minutes before they actually reached the stadium. Very anticlimatic.

It is a GREAT atmosphere and the landscape Neyland stadium sits on is unmatched by any stadium I have been to (UF, LSU, Miss, SC) however the volume Neyland reaches is right about the same as Tiger Stadium and the Swamp. Neyland might actually be a hair less in fact. I have only been to UF and LSU twice (each) but it seems there aren't as many older (ie. quieter) fans at those games as there are in Neyland. Just an observation from a Vol fan.

Flyovers are overrated:)

Trust me

i'll definately take your word on that, but...

i was at the Indy 500 several years ago, and they had the Harriers (sp?) do a fly over. well, it appeared they were just going to do your standard pre-race fly over, which i love. one plane broke off from formation. it was about 300 feet (if that) off the ground and slowly flew from the begging of the front straight to the end where he stopped in midair. he proceeded to do a 720 from his stopped point. then, he rose up to about 700-1000 nailed the gas, and took off.

one of the most amazing things i have ever seen.

Was there.
Saw it.
Agree completely

One year I was on the front straight, I was watching the B-2 fly off in the distance when an F-16 or 18 flew right over my head (seemed like about 200 feet up).

Super loud and very impressive.

There is a reasonable explanation for this phenomenon. You see, some fans actually go to Neyland sober.

Man, it's ashame you missed the 99 season in Tiger Stadium. I was in the band. I don't happen to recall the specific game, but it was for the patriotic show. The last number of the show was Lee Greenwood's rendition of God Bless the USA. He was there to sing it. As he sang a long final note, three F-16's in echelon formation flew over the stadium. Couldn't have been 100 ft over the top of the stadium. I stopped playing to look.

The crowd went freaking nuts.

Screw the SEC. UT and LSU should make their own merged team and play Al-Qaida's team.

What's a quartlet?
Sorry, when I first read the man's post I saw quartet spelled correctly and wondered what the hell you were talking about and when I looked back I noticed there had been an edit to said post. As Emily Litella would say "Never mind"....
