I blame the Alabama loss on....

No Assumptions...Look at the Posts between the two of you...it is all tit for tat with nothing to back it up...Just a fruitless argument of nothing...but assumptions...

how do you stand on OP's orginial post....Obvious that OP has no clue....

It's hard to win on the road in conference. The manner in which we got blown out in the second half was Martin's fault. We made zero adjustments to the pressure from UAT and abandoned our inside game. The players clearly panicked and the coach watched them fall apart.

I blame it on the fact we couldnt hit the broad sign of a barn for some reason. This is not a slam on our players, we just didnt shoot well.

Turnovers were the key IMO. Not necessarily the total # of TO's, but the way they happened. If you turn the ball over and it goes OOB, you have time to set up defense and fight through it. When you turn the ball over at mid-court and give up 10-15 pts on breakaways, it is nearly impossible to recover. Trae was careless with the ball, and so was Maymon. Mcbee (our x-factor IMO) couldn't hit a shot along with everyone else on our team excluding Maymon and Trae for a couple minutes.

Good grief, between the football forum and this forum this board has the biggest obsession with timeouts.

A few of the smarter posters have hit it already, so I'll just agree with them. A young, marginally talented team had a bad day at work -- on the road. We just ain't good enough yet to win when we turn it over, play less than inspired defense and shoot poorly, especially without one of our bigs and in someone else's house.

3's were not falling. If they hit a few more shots its a different game. Couldn't throw it in the ocean standing on the beach

Witch Doctor notice that also. Witch Doctor say the plan is good "IF" its open and trust your shot. Witch Doctor say NIT this year(NOT a bad thing..NCAA maybe..?) watch out next year SEC.

When we win the gang posters come on lauding Martin for COY and bashing people for ever assigning any blame to him. But when we lose, those same posters are quick to say we have a lousy team, terrible players, and no basketball IQ.

They are about as predictable as our play against a zone defense.

No worse than some knee-jerk reactionary idiot calling for the coach's head after the first few games of the season.

As I stated in that thread, based on the performance and coaching to that point in the season and specifically in that game, Martin should have been fired if it continued the rest of the year. After big wins I give Martin credit. I've also given Martin credit for changing his coaching style. All the while I have remained critical of his scheming, substitutions, and stubbornness in taking timeouts.

Please consider the element of context when reading any thread in any of the sports forums.

:birgits_giggle:

His coaching style hasn't changed all season.

The knee jerk reaction on this board is ridiculous, I bet you were the same guy praising CCM after Florida.

It's a freaking loss it happens. We have a crappy team, you can only do so much as a coach, good god.

I am not wanting CCM out at all, I like him a lot. And I admit we play poorly on the road and we do not have a lot of depth. But everyone has to admit that there should have been a better game plan and more practice on the press.

howd we look against the florida and arkansas press???

hell, arkansas presses more than anyone and we made them stop pressing we were doing so well against it.

CCM can only do so much, he cant make golden dribble better and attack the press instead of jogging it up.

judging from what CCM said in his postgame remarks, trae was supposed to be attacking the press and didnt. so it seems the gameplan to beat it was there, the players just didnt execute it.

And we do not have a crappy team...we have an inconsistent and inexperienced team. And that will change later on.

i reworded this already later in the thread. crappy was a bit strong, a very untalented team would be more along the lines of a proper statement.

when you are playing a sg at pg, a walk on from bean station at 2, a guy with 3 bad knees at the 3, a hs senior at the 4, and a marquette transfer at the 5...you arent exactly the ideal team.

they have come together well at times, but at other times have looked like the guys they were before.

i dont know how much you expect it to change this year, i think they could get hot again and make a run, but i dont see them becoming world beaters this year.

Yeah they play tough and that can't be taken for granted. As CCM's methods become more in place and he gets more of his players in place, they will get better and better.
