the Outback bowl chose us over Auburn since they have a better record, are ranked higher, and draw more fans to the smaller bowls than we do.

Does anyone know when "Countdown to Signing Day" Comes on TV.

i think the Cotton bowl got to choose first since the capital one bowl took Arkansas.

The Cotton Bowl picked before the Outback.

I'm not so sure that Auburn travels better than UT.

Tubberville has proven to be a very poor Bowl Coach. Except for the Iron Bowl, unfortunately.

At least we're not going to the Alamo Bowl like Texas..

I think that I would rather have played texas than crappy Penn State. At least texas has a little National Recognition. Penn State is a loose loose, basically Memphis in a bowl game.

Didn't know they let 14 year olds on these boards? :whistling:

Clemson in the Music City Bowl is probably a better team.

With the season the ACC had this year, I'd rather not play anyone from there. The media is pretty much in all agreement about the shoddiness of the ACC. PSU's defense is a pretty solid unit, ranked 16th in the nation. Their offense is meh and the root of their problems, but I think it'll be a good game.

They did give OSU fits and played Michigan close. They're not a team to be overlooked.

But the Alamo Bowl wouldn't be better than the Outback. That's my point..

I would just like to know how it can be a "lose, lose situation for UT"? PSU last year won a BCS bowl and has one of the, historically, best programs in the nation. Joe Pa had 3 bad years out of the 50+ he's been at PSU. I'm just not understanding the 'holier than thou' mindset comes into play here.

You're not the only one. I don't get why some people are so hung up on rankings. :dunno:

Of course the post you referenced contained a comparison of Penn State to Memphis and misspelled "lose" twice . . . I wouldn't get too worked up.

January 1st will settle it all, so don't get your panties in a wad. It's all speculation and jibber jabber for now, until Jan. 1st 4th quarter with 0:00 remaining.

Penn St. will be no pushover regardless of rank, if our team thinks that way it could be CLemson all over again.:banghead2:

I for one am looking forward to the matchup. Anyone older than 13 knows what Penn State is all about. Who cares if they're not where they used to be? Neither are are we. They played in the Orange Bowl last year while we sat home. These are two of the top ten teams of all time; anyone who can't get excited about that matchup has no idea what college football is all about.
