I can't believe

that's a loaded question....but i'd still have to say Tennessee, despite 2005's success for PSU and failure for us. but it depends on what you give more credance to....rebound years after abysmal losing seasons or down years after a conf. championship?

I'd say Penn State is viewed a little better than UT right now, but it's close. PSU is 19-5 in the last 2 seasons and UT is 14-9. Obviously I dislike the attitudes of major sports media outlets, but that's how it is.

It's pretty simple to type quickly without making a complete mess of your thoughts.

Oh well. No need to discuss things like this any further.

Let me ask you this, PSU hater: Considering the "what have you done lately" attitude of major sports media, who do you think looks better right now in 2006 - Penn State or Tennessee?

Not a fair question, that is like me asking you, Do you like my kids or yours. I am not a PSU hater, but I just dont see the advantage of playing them. I will watch the game, and it will be fun, if for no other reason than it will be half orange. Who do you think is better, PSU or Texas?
I personally feel that a heathy Texas team will get alot more national respect than PSU.

Of course it would, but we had little little chance of playing Texas. We have no choice in where we go, and it's better than NO bowl. You COULD be upset that we didn't win more games to get a better match-up.

We are in the Outback, so we are not given so much respect anyway, even if we played Texas.

see, i don't see it...which program do you think is headed in the better direction? i think TN is. We play in a better conference (perceived anyway, not going to debate that again), have equal or better facilities and like it or not...Paterno's images this year of having to leave the game to go #2 and getting creamed on the sidelines doesn't exactly instil confidence in the head honcho. not taking anything away from JoePa...but it is inevitible...he can't coach forever and this year his age has finally shown signs of catching up to him, if ever so slightly. whereas for us, our coaches, good, bad or indifferent, seem to be fairly stable. New OC, and position coaches etc....

lots of upside at TN, and not there's not at PSU...just more of it imo.

I am not really upset, my original post was a response to Texas going to their crappy bowl, and I was just stating that I would have rather been in that crappy bowl with Texas, than the crappy bowl we ended up with. As far as the overall season is concerned, I am pretty happy with what has transpired this year. Could have been better though.
