I did not expect things to be this close, this quickly. I bought into the notion, as recently as this week, that Romney was so blah, even to his own folks, that he would always trail in this election, never getting past the mid-40s mark. And then because he could count only the Obama haters as his constituency.

Fact is, this is too close to call. In fact, things are trending Romney's way and he might even be a slight favorite right now. As usual, it is going to come down to about 4 or 5 key states. Living in Florida I expect to be inundated with ads here in about a month or two.

On a lighter note, it is clear that the country is about 48-48 right now, almost intractable on both sides, meaning that billions are going to be spent winning over tiny parts of particular counties in those 4 or 5 states.

Basically, no matter who wins, the other side will immediately start campaigning against him, through their respective mouthpieces. We may well be getting to a place where one term presidents are the norm.

...to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own faults.
In my thoughts and in my words;
In what I have done and in what I have failed to do;
And I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin and all the Angels and Saints,
And you my brothers and sisters,
To pray for me to the Lord Our God.

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

I have no Earthly idea why anyone would want the useless doofus we now have in office to stay there another four years.

It's going to take twenty years to get over the damage he has already done.

It's going to take one hundred years to get over the damage politics have already done.

While Obama has not been a good president, the last thrity-five years of politics have really hurt this country, not just one President.

Is it really that big of a surprise?

Like or Hate Romney he has a chance to win because he's running against Obama. And he has a record to defend.

I confess that at times I struggle to decide if lawgator or the Jesus camp crowd are more distasteful to me.
