It was complete sarcasm. If you make college free, it's just an extension of HS, so maybe four more years will solve someones illiteracy. And if that works, then we can can the Air Force and just use flying elephants and pigs for air support.
Are you suggesting that 80-90% of these students in inner city Baltimore are NOT African-American?The tweet never made mention of race. But that didn't stop you from trashing "them" as playing the victim and implying "they" will never be better than looters and rioters.
Take a knee, your true colors are coming out the more you get lathered up in here.

Ok, digesting the data:
But yeah article author, let's blame all the teachers and administrators for the fact you can't pour knowledge into a locked-shut mind.
- Inner city school system
- Pandemic operational disruption
- Many parents don't care about academic performance so long as the kids are out of their hair.
- Many students see little future for themselves even with an education
where is he getting his source from? I'd like to read it. Can you post the link
The tweet author does go on in his next post to share a link to an article that places the blame square at the feet of the school system and identifying the system as Baltimore City Schools. I agree with his assertion that throwing more money at the problem will not fix it. The 41% will not improve until there is a concerted effort at home by parents and guardians to impart the importance of academic achievement and follow it up with regular genuine interest in their ongoing education.
I'm curious if this is based on 2020-21 school year? It doesn't say. Also curious if Baltimore went 100% virtual

I propose the "you're responsible for yourself plan".
I also propose mandatory schooling be eliminated. Schooling should be voluntary at all ages.
You also appear to be one sided in your "conclusions". Ash mentioned "the community" in this very same thread, but you didn't find the need to call him out. In my opinion, one poster's "they" and another's "the community" is referencing the same people.I'm not suggesting anything, only that the tweet didn't state anything about race - yet it was somehow inferred. Just like you somehow inferred that it was "inner city" Baltimore.
You guys are applying your personal narratives to something that wasn't there. I'm not necessarily stating that you guys are wrong, just that you've jumped to a conclusion and applied judgement without any further knowledge.
All this based on a tweet.
