I don’t want to hear about our great defense anymore

That might hold water if we weren’t missing wide open shots constantly. Ziegler is ice cold offensively. Vescovi is inside his own head and is off. Key is inconsistent from game to game.

If you don't have a scoring threat in the post, when the ball goes in to him, he either has to try to score on his man, or kick the ball out. Problem is, a good dfensive team will be running our 3 point shooters off the line and force them into uncomfortable shots. Yes, we miss too many open shots, but we often don't get enough open looks on the perimeter to matter that much.

I don't disagree, but the bigger issue than not having a post threat is having no shot creators, no one who can get their own shot. Guys like that will also create open shots for teammates with their gravity, which brings double teams and frees up shooters.

We have no one that a defense has to double, so they can play us straight up, meaning we have to work for every decent look we get. And the lack of any easy buckets in transition means we are working hard for every point we get, and that's a really tough way to win consistently.

Yep, i get it. What I'm suggesting is that our big should be the guy to get us the bucket when we really need one. If by his gravity he frees others up and passes the ball to open shooters, that's OK too.

I would have agreed 20 years ago, but today the game revolves around wings and guards who can shoot and create shots. I want my bigs ideally to rebound, protect the rim, and as a bonus have the ability to space the floor.

The game has evolved from the low post dominated sport of the '70's-'90's to a game where you win with athletic wings and guards. Show me the team in the last several years that has won without great guard play, 3-point shooting, and a couple of guys who can break down a defense.
