Just curious. If by chance we lose to Vandy, who in Vol-Land will still support CDD?

Look if Dooley still has supporters its not because of his coaching potential. Therefore, it doesn't matter who beats us, they will never abandon him. Perhaps he should take them with him

Cannot start a post so I am replying to this one. A guy who is a Big In The Know Bama Fan is telling me that one of their Boosters has said that Hart has contacted Gruden, and get this Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh about the job. Says we will not hire anyone other than a big name period. Money does not matter. I sure hope he is right! This is same fellow who knew about Saban going to Bama before anyone else ever mentioned him leaving the Dolphins.

Gruden will be the next coach at the university of Tennessee. This will happen!

Do not be scared of Vandy. They talk a good game. We should put up 45. Many of the other teams we have played had similar defensive statistics and we scored on all except bama. We even had Gators on their heels. Why are people afraid of Vandy? They have not put up very good offensive stats. Vandy's offense is not good and neither is our defense. We will put up 45

Vandy realizes this is the best chance to beat us that they have had in ages. They're smart - they know that once we part with Dooley, we are going to bring in a coach who can win. And when that happens, they'll have to crawl back into their hole of irrelevancy.

Still, as bad as we are, we should win this game. Little brother may finally land a punch...but it's just a drop in the bucket when one looks at things to come.

My dad's ex-wife got her master's degree from Vanderbilt in psychology (I believe it was), the woman was an idiot... Smallest possible sample size, I know, but not all of them are geniuses... a dumb person that works really hard can accomplish a lot too...

lol. That's a good one right there.

We need to stir up the ghost of George Cafego and be reminded just how bad we should hate Vandy. We may not be bama or lsu right now but we should NEVER allow vandy to think they have surpassed us in football even if they have! Cafego hated the mention of their name. We need that type of spirit this week as we put those ................. Vandy players, coach and fans in their rightful place, behind us!

Yep, and if they beat UT the list STILL won't have a 1A team with a winning record on it.

I suspect they're smack talking because Dooley's record isn't much better.

Below are UT's victories under Dooley. Two 1A teams had winning records (Cincinnati in 2011 and NCS in 2012).

2010
Tennessee-Martin (non-1A)
UAB (4-8)
Memphis (1-11)
Ole Miss (4-8)
Vandy (2-10)
Kentucky (6-7)

2011
Montana (non-1A)
Cincy (10-3)
Buffalo (3-9)
Middle Tennessee (2-10)
Vandy (6-7)

2012
NCS (6-4)
GSU (non-1A)
Akron (1-10)
Troy (5-5)

How can they talk smack when they couldn't even beat Dooley last year?

Wishful thinking: Coach Cafego always gave a pep talk before the vandie game. His was a hatred for those pipsqueaks that's unequalled, though Joe Thompson has had moments over the years. Are there recordings (audio or video) of Cafego's exhortations? GBO

I really believe the Vols will win the last two , go 6-6 and play the Liberty Bowl. I don't think wins/losses will have any further effect on Dooley as that ship has sailed.
