I don't know how to make a poll here..

Some of you cheer for the team because the university rolls a product out there and expects you to, regardless. They love you guys, btw, so keep it up.

The rest of us cheer for the team, but also have the ability to make up our own minds about whether we think it's headed in the right direction or not.
what a load of self-aggrandizing crap

This day will be looked back on the same way the day Kentucky gave Bear Bryant a cigarette lighter for winning the SEC in football and Rupp a Cadillac for winning the SEC in basketball. One of the stupidest mistakes in the history of sports.
The board should immediately fire both Cheek, Hart, and while they are at it fire bozo.

Stupidest mistakes in the history of sports. Whoa.

Speaking of...if Bruce had waited an extra day the Boston College job could have been his. His alma mater. Not to mention Boston vs the sleepy plains of rock-bottom Alabama.

And the right direction leads to Bruce Pearl, and Bruce Pearl only.

Okay...seems legit.

I would think GT deciding to leave the SEC would be up there.

Thanks for adding to the conversation BTO.

IMO, it'll be an 11 seed if we win the play-in game.

If you don't like the opinion, then use your ignore button and move on.

So according to you the NCAA is wrong in what they call the game? Lol

That's like me saying, well I don't consider the field of 64 the tourney because it used to be 40.

It's the freaking NCAAT, this really a isn't that complicated.

No, it's not the same BTO.

When they expanded to 64, the extra 24 teams were given a seeding, right?

When they added 4 to make it 68, the extra 4 are required to play for an actual seed in the field of 64.

You're right...it really isn't that complicated.

Bruce Pearl was always an option.
Dave Hart having balls was never an option.
Congratulations to Auburn for having an AD with a set.

So when they go to 96 those will all count? Lol

They = NCAA
it = tournament field

Right again. It really isn't that complicated.

The NCAA does call it being in the tournament, when it was called the play-in game, ratings sucked. As part of the new tv agreement they decided to put extra teams from the 11-12 seed line into it and call it the first round for tv ratings.

Being honest though, the perception by the vast majority of people is that the actual tournament is set to begin Thursday. As we all know, perception is reality. Most people average people or fans won't consider it being in the tournament unless they play on Thursday. Because most people only get interested in the NCAAs when they fill out brackets, and those brackets don't even bother with the first round/play-in games because they aren't even due in until those games are over. Which allows you to move the winners to their slot on the bracket. As diehard basketball fans most of us recognize it as the first round. But most people do not.

The dance officially begins tonight, yes.

Unofficially...the casual fan would rather watch two 11 seeds battle it out tonight and Wed rather than witness a 1 vs 16 curb-stomping on Thurs and Fri.
