tackle James Stone (Nashville, Tenn./Maplewood) does not have Tennessee in his top five, ESPN affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com reports.

Maplewood coach Ralph Thompson said Stone's current top five includes Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. Tennessee, while still in the mix, did not make his top group.

"I guess just by proximity they are still in there, but I don't think he feels comfortable there," Thompson said. "It is not the right fit for him. It is nothing against Tennessee, but he just doesn't feel comfortable there."

Maybe, he just doesn't fit the need in CLK's offense as well as someone else. :good!: Maybe, if being close to home is important...Vandy fits his needs.

Well, we would've taken him for sure but we've got guys that are still available that we had higher up on our board.

I'll take James over Stone anyday.

Sounds to me like he still left the door open for us if we showed him the attention that he wanted. IMO, he knows that he is WAY down our board and is bothered by it. I would LOVE to see him at BAMA getting owned by Jacques and Miller for the next few years.

Excellent post. You're exactly right. I'd rather not see him at Bama though. Go to Notre Dame, James.

Thanks for the update Rex......prob. was figuring on this anyhow......I'll bet on Notre Lame, followed by Vanderloser, if he wants to stay there, seems like a private school kinda guy.......we seriously don't need a guy that gets destroyed in every major camp he attended.......:eek:lol:

We need 7 OL, IMO.......we got 4, need about 3 more:

1. Chaz Green
2. Cullen
3. Dalvin Glass/ Curry/ another

then we are fairly well set, IMO

He may not have been a high priority for us, but I sure don't want to see him in crimson. I'm with Sab; I hope he chooses ND.

I thought 7 also but the guys more in the know than me said 6 and we are done.

To 3. you may want to add some go the guys I think we are higher on like Morgan Moses or Shon Coleman or Damien Robinson.

I agree that Notre Dame and Vandy look like they are in good shape, and academics really do seem important to him. He scored higher on his ACT than many of the posters on here.

6 is a good #, but remember we're losing 10 OL I believe, with graduates, transfers, and guys who were dismissed....so I don't think 7-8 in unthinkable.......but we'll see.......

Idk if he liked how hard we worked out guys here. He may not like the style we coach. If its that, then i dont want him. Personally, idk how good he will be anyways.

You have to realize that not everyone in Tennessee follows Vols football. We probably have a better chance with a guy from W. North Carolina or Northern Georgia than we do West Tennessee, or even the Nashville area.

And who knows? The kid might change his mind again. It's kinda in their nature to fill their lives with indecision.

This kid is looking for a ride. Our ride is not looking at him. We wish him good luck somewhere else. We need players that can compete and fit a seat on the Lane Train.

The coaches may not see him as an All-American talent.

I can't decide which failure of yours today is more epic, this one or your post in the Tobias Harris thread that WVU isn't a top 25 basketball team (even though they are #8 and #9 in the polls).
