A&M is in face saving mode.
Even if Elander is the best person for the job, there's no chance they hire him.

They have huge stadium renovations going on
They lost their best coach in history to the rival they obsess over more like I did this girl named <blank> in college.
Josh would CRUSH in the position but they have to keep the biggest bunch of jock sniffing boosters in the conference happy.

It’s going to be very bittersweet when the day comes.
