When it come to other games. I feel we need to educate some of our Vol fans whats in our best interests. This year for example with the playoffs a goal that we will need some help achieving. I have seen multiple fans on SEC network page rooting for Lane and Ole Miss to beat Bama.

Clearly they dont understand in a given year who cares but with our scenario. We need Bama to stay a top 10 win. We get plenty of mileage out of that game and a 3rd loss will spoil it. The LSU loss didn't because we obviously beat them too and there again we get mileage out of that one. Ole Miss winning that game does nothing but hurt our resume.

Am I reaching too much on this or do you agree some folks don't understand the playoff circumstances and how the games results effect us? It seems some are tone deaf.

Yeah. It's called rooting for Tennessee Vols 101...

It's as plain as day if when win out, then we're in...
Even if UGA loses.

Need South Carolina to beat Florida imo. Could give us another top 25 matchup when we play them. Also, they could beat Clemson after us and make our (assumptive) win look that much better.

A 1 loss pac12 champ is getting in. At least that’s what all the talking heads are saying lol

The most worrying teams to me are TCU, Oregon, USC, and UCLA. TCU going undefeated will seal a spot.

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State/ Michigan
3. ?
4. ?

The cluster will be in the PAC. USC vs UCLA will guarantee one of them has a second loss. The PACCG will ensure Oregon or USC/UCLA will have 2 losses. However, it could be trouble if the PAC champion finishes with only 1 loss, especially if it is Oregon.

Oregon needs to drop 1 of Washington, Utah, or PACCG. USC needs to drop 1 of UCLA, Notre Dame, or PACCG. UCLA needs to drop either USC or PACCG.

TCU needs to lose to Texas or Baylor, but preferably both.

Since we won’t win our conference or even division, we don’t want to be hoping we get chosen over 1-loss Conference champions.

This weekend is huge. If TCU gets beat, TN moves up. If TN wins out then they aren’t going to drop a team from their ranking when they keep winning. This weekend can in my opinion help tremendously to settle things. Also OSU and UM are guaranteed to result in a lose to one of them at the very end. They won’t carry both of them to the playoffs.
so unless someone is suggesting that all the sudden one of the other schools will leap frog a winning TN team, and kick them out of the top 4, I think y’all are actively looking for a huge let down due to being a TN fan for too long.
I still hold strong that if Tn wins out then Tn is sitting good. 2 of the top 4 play each other in the last game of the season. One will drop below us in rank. And fingers crossed TCU will go down also, which will give TN another spot in the top 4 it can work with.

Afraid its not that simple if you have dissected whats coming down the stretch. We need help.
It's pretty much that simple.

Teams are going to fall away. It's the nature of November. TCU will lose, either this weekend or in one of the three weekends after that. They're teetering already. Oregon will likely lose again. One of Ohio State - Michigan must lose.

All the Vols have to do is win out. Strength of schedule and beating Bama, LSU, Florida, Kentucky, Pitt got us here. Now we are here, it's this simple: win every remaining game in November.

Go Vols!

I will not pull for Bama to win. Ever. Even if it helps the Vols.

Ive been around a day or two and do not need you or anyone else "educste" me on my Vol fandom or how to go about it.

Not sure a win over FL gets SCar in the T25. Clemson makes it 8 in a row this year.

Easy.
1. We need all the people we have beat to win to make our wins look better. (LSU, Florida, Kentucky, Alabama)
2. We need TCU or Ohio State or Michigan to lose.
3. We need Georgia to win to make our loss look better.
4. We need to handle business against Missouri. And preferably, handle business with style and in convincing fashion.

If UT wins out impressively I believe everything will take care of itself, but here are some basic rooting interests that help us:

Alabama winning out.
LSU winning out and losing in Atlanta.
Kentucky winning out. If they beat Georgia, UGa will win the SEC anyway and our SOS just gets better.
Oregon losing one more game.
TCU losing one game.
USC losing one more game.
UCLA losing one more game.
Florida winning out.
Pitt winning out.

One of Michigan and Ohio State will lose and drop, as our SOS kills both of theirs. I think that Clemson is done, but would love to see them lose one more.

All of these things might not need to happen, but this is a basic primer.
