I call myself an Eagles fan, but I'm not so sure. I don't really have any ties to the Eagles, I just like watching them play. Living in East Tennessee doesn't make it any easier, because I don't get to see many of their games, besides SNF or MNF.

The problem I have, is: Every team I watch I find myself wanting to be a fan of them, and I don't know why.. I guess it's because I'm more a fan of players than particular teams because I can't really find a team to latch on to.

Does anyone else find themselves in the same situation?

Umm Peyton Manning? I'm going to assume that was sarcasm...

No, I've watched the giant, cowboys, and skins play and I would rather stick a hot iron up my butt than be a fan of any of them

I'm more of a fan of players in pro sports than the actual team too. It's hard for me to completely latch on to a team knowing that they can just up and decide to blowup the team for any number of reasons.

That's part of being a fan.

Odds are, if you're picking teams based on players... you're picking guys on winning teams. That's called bandwagon. Takes all of the fun out of it.

I equate it to playing video games on easy or playing your dad in basketball when you're 8(letting you win). Where's the fun in that?

It's not bandwagon. For example, I used to love the titans but they got rid of mcnair, george, mason, rolle, etc all in pretty much one year. I followed all but George to baltimore and have kind of stuck with them even though those players have gone. I have no problem saying I'm not a "die-hard" fan of any pro team.

They got rid of all of the players that allowed them to win and you stopped liking them for a team that was winning. I guess our definition of bandwagon is different.

You do know that the Ravens were one of the Titans biggest rivals, right?

I'm sorry, I can't respect that at all. Your decision though... you also like Ohio State. *vomits*

I didn't like Baltimore because they were winning I just followed all of my favorite players at the time(which is no different for me in any other pro sport). Baltimore has also had some tough seasons between then and now so it's obviously not a bandwagon situation. And yes I was aware of the rivalry and used to hate Baltimore with a passion.

So in 2008, when the Ravens played the Titans in the playoffs and McNair was gone, Rolle was gone, etc...you were still rooting for the team you used to hate with a passion over the team in Tennessee?

Mason was still there, but by then I started liking other players on the team as well. Like i said I'm not a die-hard fan of any pro team just more of a fan of players.

Philly theme snuggie for two.

If you don't have an NFL team, picking one arbitrarily is fine as long as they haven't won a superbowl in the last three years (unless they're local).

I'm not a "fan" of any NFL team. I enjoy watching the game.

I hate the Cowboys though.

Bullshiz. I pick former Vols to root for. Otherwise, I don't give a crap who wins.

It kind of depends on your motivation, imo. Do you want a winning team so by extension you can feel like a winner too? Do you want to root for an organization with tradition? Do you want a team full of respectable overachievers? Do you like a certain coach or player(s)?

I love the Falcons and have since I was a kid (early 90's). For me it's about the journey. Sure we're decent now, but it took awhile to get an owner who cared enough to try to win consistently.
