I for one am cutting Foster some slack this year.

The idea of moving Foster to fullback is intriguing.

Yeah if we had a more open minded HC, use split backs with both Foster or Hardesty at Fullback and Coker at Halfback. I could see someone like Richt doing that, Fulmer no.

In light of Cory dissapearing as a contributor, I say move him to DT if hes not a senior and make Foster a FB. Foster has been unimpressive with speed to the hole,(when there is one) but he does seem to have some ability in strength between tackles. This is an obvious offense fix IMO. I thought Id better give AF some props so Fostermom doesnt go purse slappin on my head. Not to mention Cory just might be a suprise at DT if he gets motivated.

I don't think Cory Anderson isn't motivated. His strength is run blocking. We haven't had a very good running game and haven't run it that much. When we have run it, it's been outside with lightning fast Coker carrying. That's not really Cory's strength.

Richt has 2 good tailbacks, but he rarely lines them up in the same backfield. Even when Auburn had Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams, Brown was usually at h-back or lined up in the slot when they were on the field at the same time.

It's one of those things that people always talk about, but you rarely see split backfields anymore.

I don't think that would be more open-minded, it would be dumb. If everyone is complaining about a lack of productivity from Foster and Hardesty, why rearrange your offense to get those guys on the field?

I think teams usually run inside with split backs. Its difficult to get a lead blocker in that formation and run off-tackle like UT does.
