I found this pretty dumb, way too early top 25 next year

I've actually been really impressed with Arizona when I've briefly watched them. Agile QB and efficient offense. I could see them winning the Big 12 next year. They stomped Utah last season too.
You have a point I forgot they were also going to the big 12 which changes things.

Hmm, checks current poll. Liberty 18, UT 25.

Miss St should have hired Liberty‘s coach. Chadwell has coached in 3 different league championships and has Liberty in Fiesta Bowl.

Well if they’re ahead of us in the poll it must be legit. Tell me about that Liberty schedule.

In the average year about 10-15 teams in the final preseason AP ranking Top 25 end up in the final Top 25. Your Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Oklahoma's and a few others are safe bets in any given year but beyond that it's a crap shoot.

I'm just wondering--and excuse me for rambling just a bit--it is almost 3:30 in the morning. I kept reading Spyre is top of the heap in collectives. My credit card expired and I got a new number, so they hit me every day with wanting a new number. There was a dude in the early days who posted on here trolling for new contributors. Anyway, I did provide my new info so I'm back in, but I'm not sure I or you are getting our money's worth. It looks like we lose almost every battle. Someone was writing about one portal recruit and said he looks like maybe he is drawing interest now from Georgia, Alabama, and some of the other big boys, so we may be out. If we have the top--or nearly the top--recruiting collective in the nation, why are we not one of the big boys? I'll tell you now, my commitment level to Spyre is not one that gets me a signed jersey and road game tailgates, but what I do give will be a whole lot less (as in nothing) if I don't see something more in the future. Spyre has shown me they can give a stupid amount to one player and lose about every other battle. We are nowhere near a top 10 recruiting team and our portal recruiting is very substandard. My little bit of money will be contributed to more worthwhile causes going forward.

We're not a "big boy" when teams like that get involved because in addition to money, Alabama and Georgia are perennial powers in the lifetimes of these athletes and we are not, and they have put kids in the league at a much higher rate. We can match them in money but still have to earn the other two, and haven't done so yet.

Liberty in the polls is legit at 23. Their hardest OOC game next year is those giant killers at App State.. they open their season against the Campbell Caramels....so thats beyond cupcake its literally candy. they are likely to be an 11-12 win team with their schedule. I think its more the teams that shouldn't be in the rankings at all. It's like people do not look at these teams rosters or schedules.

Liberty shouldn't be ranked, period. They wouldn't break 500 playing a Power 5 schedule.

Liberty's recruiting rankings have been hovering around 100 for the last 3 years. Their schedule is a joke, them being ranked is clickbait and a joke.

What do you deem the value of “money’s worth” for what you give?

if we lose to Iowa we will finish the season unranked with 5 losses so this 2024 preseason poll would make some sense in that regard. If we roll Iowa we might slip into the top 20 in the final poll. 9-4 looks much better than 8-5. Beat Iowa!!!!

How do you even do a way too preseason top 25 now? 5 years ago I get a way too early, but it was usually after the bowls and now with the portal it’s kind of impossible.

They don't play one and it is what it is. The belong in the top 25 because even though they don't play P5 winning 11-12 regular season games is still an accomplishment. The facts are they'd beat a lot of P5 schools. It's not a big deal as 20-25 is kinda like honorable mentions and almosts anyway. I honestly think Liberty coulda won the big10 west this season.

I am glad Colorado is getting love because it has been a while since they have been relevant. Question is, why would a 4-8 team be projected for any top 25 poll? It's all Deion right?

It’s 100% Deion. 4-8 is an improvement over the year before but everyone needs to tap the brakes on them being a top 25 team next year. 7-5 at the very best. And that’s with a couple of breaks

You know what you do? You make this a 6x8 poster and hang it up in the weight room, and practice facility locker room on the way out to the field. Use it for motivation for the few that will actually use it as such.

As usual uscWest and ND over ranked.

No Tennessee, no OK .... but WV, NCSt, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami and Colorado which isn't even the best team in the state (Air Force always is) are in the top 25? I surprised they forgot to include Purdue, Northwestern, Virginia, UTEP and Stanford!

Colorado? They're on a 5 6{?} game losing streak.

Didnt they get much worse as the season went on? Thats a sign of great coachi...ermm yeah ok.
All hating aside they will be a much better team next season. They return pretty much all their best players and brought in a ton of highly rated recruits and portal guys already. They have replaced their entire Oline which was probably among the worst in the nation. They will definitely be a bowl team next year and since they will be in the big 12 they could end up ranked. They have an infinitely easier schedule.

I could easily see 8 wins off that schedule. Maybe more.

Yeah this poll is trash. Here is my best guess:

1. Alabama
2. Texas
3. Georgia
4. Michigan
5. Florida State
6. Ohio State
7. Oregon
8. Oklahoma
9. Penn State
10. Washington
11. Utah
12. Ole Miss
13. Louisville
14. Oklahoma State
15. Iowa
16. LSU
17. Clemson
18. Kansas State
19. Tennessee
20. NC State
21. USC
22. Auburn (don't laugh but I think they will be a surprise team)
23. Missouri
24. Notre Dame
25. Arizona

Just out: West Virginia

I feel like we could have a surprise team in the B1G that comes up (leaning either Nebraska or Wisconsin)
