I hate basketball downtime.

The more I watch basketball, the more I love it. But for me, it hasn't passed football yet.

I just can't seem to get into basketball. I've tried, just doesn't do anything for me.

When I started watching more than just the ball and paid attention to movement, plays, defense, etc. it got a lot more interesting.

Didn't hurt that the first NBA playoffs I really watched included an incredible Bulls-Celtics series and (I think this was the same year) Lakers-Nuggets was awesome too.

I've never watched a soccer game TBH. All the running and kicking just makes me dizzy. It kinda falls in line with hockey to me. I just don't understand it and never really wanted too. Basketball on the other hand keeps me on the edge of my seat. I usually break things watching basketball, I usually just shrug my shoulders during football games. This year though, I'm watching basketball in an empty room with nothing to throw because I imagine being on nerve medication before SEC play even starts.

Agree 100%. When you see how different coaches call plays and the sets they run, you really find an appreciation and understand the art and hardwork. And then when it's uptempo, non stop, you get blown away lol. I guess you could say the same about football too because you got so many guys with jobs to do executing plays.

Hockey is awesome in person. It's actually the best sport to watch in person IMO. May not match college football's atmosphere but I'd put it well above the NFL.

I love both soccer and hockey, although I'd put them a touch below college football, with basketball running a strong 4th (basketball and hockey probably alternate between 3 and 4 in my mind depending on how my teams are going and how many games I get to see live). The sport I can't really get into is baseball, meaning that July is the worst.

pat summit sure did bring ut along way as well

Ignorant Post. I hope you are kidding.

Pearl alone did more in his short time here for UT Ball than Pat has in her 20 something years.

(And for the record - I've been a B-Ball supporter since the Devoe years. Not a Pearl Bandwagoneer)

Bruce did more for women's ball than Pat has the past 5 years. I wonder if Pat ever thanked Bruce for her hefty raise?

Far bigger fan in roundball than the pigskin so this is horrible. I'm dying over here. Anyone else prefer basketball over football and hate this time of the year?
I'm with you bro on that, basketballs always been no.1 to me and always will. It's the first sport i watched on tv as a kid and played as well in neighborhood pick up games growing up. But dont get me wrong, i still love football.

It's really hard to say which one I love the most. Probably depends on which one I'm watching at the time. I'll say this though: There's something about football though that goes right to the cultural fabric. A home football game is so much more an 'event'. Nothing like being here on a football Saturday.

Frankly, I'm not excited about either sport this season.

It looks like it's going to be a long year.

I personally started watching college ball when Bruce came over to Tennessee and fell in love with it... I will now be a Vol fan for life... More so basketball than football. But being from wisconsin its hard not to be a homer.

I love Tenn bball and watch every game, but in honesty it can't touch football.

This. While I'll be at every home game except the Pittsburgh game (and maybe that one too if the SECCG doesn't feature an undefeated team playing for a spot in the NC), nothing comes close to UT football.
