Is anyone else already sick of hearing about him and Spicey wife?

I'm so sick of ESPN shoving him down our throats. I was infifferent towards soccer but now I hate it with a passion.

i think his wife is pretty hot

I saw 5 minutes of her show last night, she is puky. She looks like she belongs on some Anorexic All-Star team. It jsut proves someone as rich and famous as David Beckham can still make really stupid moves.

im expecting Beckham to do things that the human eye has never seen the way they keep talking about him... im also expecting his first goal to bring world peace and his first bicycle kick to end terrorism and the war in Iraq

Or his first penalty shot bringing peace to the Gaza Strip...

Those are all more realistic than him doing what he is actually supposed to....get people to enjoy soccer in the US.

Now that is an interesting point.

They are selling out games now that he's on the team, so you have to at least give them credit for upping attendance there.

I heard a story on the radio yesterday up in NY that the Galaxy's main strategy with Beckham isn't necessarily to make soccer more popular in the US (which I'm sure is a goal) but rather to increase the profile and value of the Galaxy brand worldwide. They're planning on selling butt-loads of jerseys and other stuff overseas and playing on the combo of huge international star playing in Hollywood.

The Cosmos had some rather large crowds after they got Pele. I don't think LA will get anything sustainable out of Beckham.

Those people are there to see Mrs. Beckham. And she's not even hot. She has a terrible fashion sense and makes Mary-Kate Olsen look like a fatass.
