I hate Twilight thread

i haven't. i'm mainly talking about the movies, not the books.

Crap. That's the second time you guys have had to remind me of that in this thread. Sorry. I had to watch the first movie cause my sister begged me. It was terrible. Without adopting the same format they did with the LOTR movies, they'd never be able to get it right on the screen. You just can't film the stuff the writer makes you believe.

I do highly recommend reading the books though, especially the first one, to anyone who is man enough to read it. I realize you'd have to hide out. But the woman is an amazing writer. Amazing.

Man enough?

Haha. "Sure I'll go watch that crap movie, but when we get home you're gonna be doing some stuff I want..."

Something like that?

Yes.

It honestly wasn't that bad. I knew I was in for a treat when she knew all the worlds to the theme song, and every other piece of sound track in the movie. She was humming a dif tune later

ok, so from what i understand through the grapevine, this girl first falls inlove with some vampire, then she falls for a werewolf? talking about the ultimate FML story, maybe she should just go ahead and off herself

She tried, the wolf saved her. I have a fiance who is crazy about the series and finally convinced me to read them. I like to read anyway, so I said why not atleast read the first one. The books are well written in the sense that Meyers weaves the plot very well throughout the four books. There is forshadowing in the first book which isn't revealed until the third or fourth which is impressive. The books really do read as one long book rather than four seperate works. If you like books where you can try to piece together clues and read between the lines to figure the story out, its a great series. There are a lot of twists and crazy moments. The downside is, you have to read through a lot of sappy teen-girl drama as well. There is a lot of depression to read through in terms of the the girl in the story and a lot of repition in describing the beauty of the vampires which does get kinda monotonous after a while. I will say there is a lot of sappiness in the stories, but when you get to eclipse, there are some tense action scenes (serial murders, some war scenes). The new director should do a good job of depicting those. Obviously girls have picked up on the craze pretty heavily for the love story aspect of it, but if you do like to take hints from the book and tie them together, its a good read. However, if you want to make jabs at the craziness of fans over the love story and the obsession with the two male characters, be my guest and I don't blame you. It's a little absurd how much some people are in love with those characters. Maybe it would be better if Bella was some gorgeous girl and had an attractive personality, but thats not the case. She's just a plain average teenage girl, but that part is crucial to the story as well.

movies= so-so (a lot of love story emphasis)
books= good reads for plot weaving

she never really falls in love with the wolf fwiw...

It amazes me too ffv how teenage girls latch on to something and won't let it go. I'm praying I don't have daughters...

It'll be in the movie for sure. Sorry for the spoiler though. She's in love with both, she just doesn't know it yet in the movies that have been produced already.

Not a spoiler for me! Haha...I have already read all of the books multiple times :)

friends, friends with benefits whatever, i mean does she give him a flea bath or something?

i mean seriously if i found out my GF was a vampire, and then the other girl i was into was a shewolf, i would get the eff out of dodge.

Terrible movie, was forced to watch it with the wife...since when do vampires sparkle like diamonds when in the sunlight?
