I have to admire you younger guys. You obviously don’t believe in jinxes.

I think we have a puncher's chance against anyone right now even if we aren't as talented on paper.
I'll give you that. I'm still nervous about the game tomorrow but trying to gain some of the confidence I've seen folks have on here lol. I'll say this: This head coach is the best coach we've had since Fulmer without question. If we'll just be patient he'll have us right back to where we all want to be. Definitely ahead of schedule!

I have to admire you younger guys. You obviously don’t believe in jinxes. Asking “How does one go about carrying the coach off the field on one’s shoulders” and “ should we storm the field after the win?“ I just assume we’re going to lose and if we win, it’s that much sweeter but if we lose, it’s like “oh well, this is what I expected.“ Yes, I am a Battered Vol. But don’t be like me. Enjoy Vol sports unrestricted and full of joy. God bless you.

Jinxes are for Boomers. Our Players forge their own destiny!

Fulmer was a great recruiter and a good manager but the coaching talent was our coordinators and position coaches. Fulmer rarely beat innovative coaches if talent was comparable. I think Heupel might be the best true coach Tennessee has had in at least half a century. If Heupel can recruit like Fulmer then watch out.

Forget superstition. Bama still has bama talent, depth and Saban's mystique. Tennessee is recovering from 12 years of total mismanagement. The odds of a Vol win are better than it has been in a long time, but if it happens...Heupel should be coach of the year.

Man shake off your BVS, get up off the turf, and catch up with the rest of us. You and I have both suffered through
the bad times to GET TO THIS! Those bad times only make these good times BETTER. If not for bad days, you can not fully enjoy the good days. Stop looking back and look to the future. The past is just that the past. It has nothing to do with today and sure doesn't have anything to do with tomorrow. GO VOLS!

I'm old and my first dog bite was from a female rotty named "Jynx". I believe in jinx. One almost de-neutered me.

All a Vol fan has to do is watch the Florida game again to know the jinx is real. We exorcized one demon, and it fought hard to stay, but in the end we did it. It'll be no different with Bama. But these Vols have shown they are up to the task.
There is no Alabama jinx.

They've had the better talent and coaching for the past 15 years.
Their talent and coaching has been better than 99% of everyone else in college football too.

Florida tho....yes...there is a mental block there.

I have to admire your self confidence. To actually think you can have an impact on the outcome of a game by posting something positive on a message board.

*click, click* Here's your 2 SECCG tickets, and if that doesn't work, submit to your BVS retraining...

Nobody in CFB should scare the Vols, our offense gives is a chance to beat anyone. Our defense playing up gives us a chance to blow really good teams out

I am very hesitant as well. There are a lot of scenarios were we lose (perhaps more scenarios than we win).

However...

I just get this funny vibe we are going to win. No logic behind it. I am not going to be upset at players or Heupel if we lose, and I think that is the right mentality but I cannot deny the vibe.

We will see Saturday.

To me, it is a no lose scenario for Tennessee. Sure there is all this hype around us now but we were expecting an 8-4 or 9-3 type season. We are getting the recruits and frankly, it is just a win that we are in this position and getting this level of national attention. Beating Alabama is just icing on the cake to what has already been a great season so far.

That being said, beating them opens us up to a lot of possibilities and definitely creates the narrative of being "back."

Well I'm 30 so not that many decades. Didn't start watching heavily until '06.

Then for your entire life it has been gloom, despair and agony pretty much, as far as Vol football. So it’s a great time to be a Tennessee Vol. We are ascendant finally. Enjoy every minute.

Yep, I'm a 40 year old victim of BVS. UT was always great since I started following football in 1989 but have sucked ever since I was in my early 20's. You just assume bad things will always happen after a while. I wait like 10 seconds after every touchdown before I actually celebrate, just bracing for a nut punch penalty taking it off of the board.

Many Vol fans are so concerned about what Bammers will say if Tennessee wins but dont seem to care how foolish they look with their plans for celebrating if Tennessee loses.
