I hope Curt and Jacques will be ready this week

I like the starting linebackers we have now in Johnson, brewer and sapp. So does anyone think that Curt will see some time at DE or will one of the other linebacker be pushed back to 2 nd string? Or maybe brewer move into a nickel position at times?

If Maggit can go you may see him Sapp and Brewer in more of a nichol set. I love AJ but he may sit except on short yardage and goaline as imo he won't match up well with Duck offensive sets. Really hope Smith can go because we sure need some speed on the edge.

Thanks for your reply! I can see what ur saying about AJ but I would hate to have that much leadership sitting on the sideline. I know AJ n Curt are small for DE but it could add a little speed for pash rush n stop some of the outside runs and I agree 100% about Smith. We'll have to wait and see what happens but depth is a good problem to have! Go Vols!!!

I'll bet JS is ready to hit someone. I would hate to be lined up across from him.

Agree but I wish he'd been able to get some PT prior to this one. Game speed of Oregon will be a tough adjustment after being sidelined I fear.

Hope he proves my fears are unfounded.

In the post game comments the Butcher said that Jaques would be ready to go and they would take whats best for Curt into consideration on letting him play or not.

Curt practiced all week leading up to the WKU game. I would be surprised if he doesn't play against Oregon.

or however long he's been here, I doubt he will explode now. He's not been very good, but maybe it will click for him this year. I doubt it, but maybe.

That's cool. Of course what you think has no bearing on what may or may not happen. Thanks for your contribution though. :hi:

He's a senior who has played in nearly 40 games, including Oregon in 2010.

I think he'll be ready.

We need all the help on defense we can get, after all we gave up 8.5ypc to Andrews from WK and Oregon's backs and slot receivers are much more elusive....not to mention that their QB is as elusive as the RB's.....WoW just WoW....this will be UT's toughest test of the year by far
