The East was a one horse race, and UT was no closer to anyone else. If you want to be wowed, then so be it. I'd say you will be well pleased with the trod and plod bball you'll be watching the next few years. Enjoy.

Incorrect. Anyone that backs up outlandish claims with BS usually gets flamed. That's actually only you.
Which is a better accomplishment - finishing second in a meaningless conference division or making the NCAA tourney?
And frankly, what makes Martin look even worse is actually finishing second in the conference and NOT making the NCAA tourney. That takes a special kind of coaching.

UT IE, I don't really want to get into this with you because if the arguments in your own fail thread doesn't help you see the error of your judgement, I highly doubt mine will either. The goal is to always make the tourney and the hope is to be the last team standing. Whether Bruce was coaching last year or Martin, the way we finished the season (excluding postseason) was pretty incredible. Injuries and depth bit us in the butt at season's end. We have reason to feel optimistic about the direction of the program. You are entitled to your opinion though. We will just agree to disagree.
Why would you exclude the post season?
Guru alert...we were second in the East. Actually there were no divisions last season so we did in fact come in second on the SEC. I suspect you are a casual fan. Trod and plod ball? I was a huge Pearl fan (still am) but his final year and the second half of our exciting Elite Eight year was what you would consider "trod and plod" ball. C'mon now. Your seriously writing off CCM because of last year and one game into this season? I do apologize about the earlier sarcasm but your comments are mildly ridiculous.
The only thing ridiculous is when you start name calling another poster simply because they don't agree with your assessment.
A casual fan? What the heck does that mean. Are you a 'serious' fan? Maybe you can put that on your resume.
Hey, if you want to be impressed with CCM's first year, then by all means, go for it. I am not. If it makes you feel better to call me ridiculous or casual, because we don't agree, then go for it. If you want to pump sunshine after missing the tourney, and then losing to an in-state directional school, and Austin Peay, then so be it.

Beating uconn was awesome at the time, beating UF twice was awesome, beating Vandy in a must win was awesome.
Beating Kennesaw State by 9 in the home opener was disappointing, but a win none-the-less.
