He was one of our greats not just because of his stats but because of what he meant to the program. During the lean years, he was the beacon of hope. He was robbed of HOF status by health issues, but he was a well respected pro as well. He was a great ambassador for the program.
At one time we were touted as WRU, but actually we've had more impactful DBs than WRs. Majors, Priest, Graham, Brown, James, McDaniel, Carter, Grant and Berry were all AAs. 7 were pro bowlers. I'm sure I'm missing someone
Edit: While Eddie Brown was only a part time starter in the NFL, he was a great punt returner
I'm 34 and EB is the one dude who in my lifetime actually lived up to and surpassed the hype, as a player at TN. I'm hoping Nico is the next one. I love EB. He's probably my favorite TN player of all time.
He had many but if you need just one as previously mentioned in this thread just check out what he did to the then highly praised UGA RB Knowsho Moreno. After that play Knowsho didn't want no mo', took off his helmet and sat it out for a while. I think Knoiwsho spent so much time up in the cheap seats where EB deposited him, that they were ready to charge him for a ticket.
