.500 at Kentucky or Vandy is all world. But I tend to agree with you on top tier programs hiring him.

Stoops has done a pretty decent job in Kentucky. Yeah, he may be a .500 coach, but if you look at his record, he's been steadily improving year after year. His last three years (minus 2020) are actually fairly decent.

Remember, he came in the same year Butch was hired, but went into a program with zero expectations. The difference is he's been given the time to build a program instead of the traditional SEC three and out like many coaches. I don't think Kentucky will ever be championship caliber, but they will be solid under his leadership.

That's funny because I bet $200 that UT would win over 6.5 games before the season started. That was their projection (not counting bowl games). It looks like the oddsmakers were pretty close!

Going 10-3 is like winning a National title at Kentucky so they should sign Stoops to a lifetime contract but he is only 2-7 against us lol

UK will be better next yr. I think Stoops has his best class projection in 2022, including his first 5 star. He may also get 3 of Tennessee's top 15 high school recruits. Hopefully this victory changes that! Right now we are losing every top 15 player we have in state. I dont think this has ever happened. UT used to get 7-8 of their state's top 10. Things can change between now and signing day. And with the portal I think there will be more parity than ever. 4 and 5 stars don't like sitting on a bench!

Sometimes I wonder how much effort they are putting into high school recruiting. With the portal you can get players that can help in year 1. And maybe Coach Heupel sees this as the quickest way to turn this program around. Time will tell I guess. Our 2nd ranked high school player is going to Bama (Simpson QB). What if they sign Arch Manning in 23? He just may transfer? Maybe back home?

. You could be right on that I don’t know Heupels approach to recruiting. I know he coaches the players up better than any coach I’ve seen at UT in a long time. Rodney Garner is highly regarded as a good recruiter I hope we can keep him around.

Maybe you’re right. I apologize. I get confused about UF because sometimes mediocre coaches go in there which prompts this certainty in my mind that we’ll make the series competitive, and yet here we are.
