how can yall defend the coaches here? i dont get it.

WE LOST TO SOUTH CAROLINA. we scored one, one, one, touchdown against them.

ONE TOUCHDOWN AT HOME AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA.

Looks to me that the media was right.

All the off the field stuff was a sign of bad things.

we need discipline in knoxville. and until we get it.

welcome to mediocrity. Nebraska went through it. Penn St. went through it. Bama. Michigan.

we are not above being down and out for 2-5 years guys.

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. cant wait to see what yall have to say when we go 6-5 again next year.

it may be acceptable to the "real vol fans" but it sure as hell is not acceptable to me.

Careful CC, people are going to call you an idiot, a fairweather fan, a bandwagon jumper, a chump, an unqualified coach, and a coach family hater. That is all they have left in their arsenal.

This whole thing has left me speechless. I don't know what they need to do. But something has to change. This is not the Tennessee football that I grew up loving. Everybody was so out of it last night. No one in my section was even standing up when Rocky Top was being played. Its not fun to go anymore. :fool: something has to change.

I am fine with Fulmer sticking around. He won a damn national championship, does that not count for anything? I agree, personnel changes are sorely needed, and Tennessee needs to bring in somebody who knows how to run an offense. But Fulmer is not a bad coach. He didn't BS his way to an .800 record over a decade. If everything stays as it is now, I agree with you CBC, things will only get worse. We could even see a few losing records in years to come if recruiting gets worse.

Hamilton and Fulmer, this ship is sinking. Time to get the situation in hand.

Hey! You guys are welcome to get rid of all of your ORANGE stuff and find another team. Nobody is making you stay a Vol fan. Hell, go pull for South Carolina. They have found some new found success.

Point is this, dont call me BLIND! I can see what is going on. Only difference is I am stable enough to recognize a bad season when I see one. Im not a spoiled Vol fan who thinks we should win every game we play. Im not ready to dismiss one of the best coaches in football, one who only 1 year ago, was on his way to a SECCG meeting, just because some on here are bad losers.

You choose to be a VOL fan. That is your right. But whenever you choose any team, you are also accepting the risk that not EVERYTHING will go your way. Some of you "fans" on here seem to think after every loss, someone has to lose their job.

Do I think there needs to be a change? Hell yes. Does it start at the top? Hell no! Does PF decide who needs to go? You bet he does. Does he know more about what needs to be done more than any of you folks who arent "blind"? Yep. You guys have cried wolf too often.

Don't you think that this season proves that Wolf may actually exist? We have seen this coming for a long time.

Yeah, we have been looming on this. But this year in particular leaves a bad taste. Preseason hype and lot's of talent. Too bad it happened now.

So, we need to look at what changes will be made, and press on.

Hey Lex, congrats at the big 1,000 :clapping:

It's just a game, y'all. Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I angry?
Absolutely! But IT IS FOOTBALL and not a life-altering event. We need to get a collective grip around here.

While I agree with certain aspects of that I also disagree. This is no longer in the "just a game" range. It's starting to turn into it's just a program category. I'm worried about the state of the Tennessee football program as of last night. :ermm:

I guess all I'm trying to say, OWB, is that putting too much emphasis on a game and taking hate that should be turned toward murderers, rapists, and terrorists and turning it on a college football team is wrong.

And silly.

But the whole purpose of this board is to discuss FOOTBALL, and right now our FOOTBALL team is in shambles. I think we do have a collective grip on what is going on. :disappointed:

DISCUSSING football is one thing, MBRO, but a lot of what I've read today hasn't had a whole lot of "discussion" to it.

Believe or not I was really not that upset last night. You know these are just kids, and I understand that.

Football season is my favorite time of year, because of the weather, the sights and sounds, and because of those three and a half hours on Saturday that you can count on to make you forget about work, your rising golf handicap, and other adult responsibilties.

I am just voicing my dissapointment, and grieving the loss of turning the TV on, and seeing fun football. Fun is not always about winning. Sometimes it is just watching the offense break a few big plays win or lose. It is about enjoying the strategies employed by the coaches, and hoping the next play will break the game wide open.

This year it is like watching paint dry, and it is no longer an escape.

And if he doesn't, then WHAT?? Will you die? No. Will life as we know it cease to exist? Nope. Will you quit pulling for the Vols? Maybe, but that's your option. All I know is that I have lived through more disappointing years of football, than I have undefeated seasons, and even more years where the football team was a source of pride and pleasure. I am 100 Vol if they NEVER win another game.

GO VOLS!!!

HELP !!!!!!
I was on a band trip with my daughter and didnt get to see ut and sc game. what the heck happened?????? I couldnt believe the score when I got home at 3 am. What in the world is going on in Knoxville. If you want to see a great offense come to Weaver Alabama and watch the Weaver Bearcats. 3A school just completed second straight perfect season 10-0. very talented running back and awesome receivers who no one can tackle one on one. and none can be caught from behind. GO BEARCATS and come on VOLS get it together. LIfe in Alabama is not good right now. But Im quick to remind them of the last 9 of 10 years.
GO VOLS :aggressive:

I agree that some of the discussion is a little over the top. People are just angry as h**l. This was supposed to be our best team since the 98 MNC. It's starting to look more and more like we won't even be bowl eligible this year. Changes have got to be made before the program slips into mediocrity for the next decade. Now I'm not quite ready to get rid of CPF, but he has got to do something drastic to turn this thing around, and he needs to do it soon.

lio i will never stop pullin for the vols no matter what. you have no right to say what i will and will not do. when did you ever walk in my shoes to say stuff like that? you need to give this speech to the lowlifes that say they hope ut loses the rest of the games.(you know who u are) i will be there even if they go 0-11. but there has to be coachin changes made. all of y'all that say "oh the coaches arent the problem" need to get a grip on reality. it is both the coaches and the players but more the coaches. you say it is just a game but sec football is much more than that. its just common sense.

Part of the problem is that there is very little "discussion" to be had. The pro RS crowd has resorted to name calling, rather than rationally contributing.
