Our OL is the least experienced in SEC. Above average play from them would be golden. jmo

Gilliam is probably 23 now. I assume he walked on at 18 or 19. Turning into a man can help some football players be better at 23 than 18. Shocking news I know but assumptions about gilliams ability because he didnt have hype out of hs or didn't play much behind future nfl linemen is silly. Watch him, then decide. And look at the linemen playing nfl that blossomed late or didn't ever play for a powerhouse in the first place. Dude is about to earn a LT spot after going through the end of Kiffin and all the way through Dooley. That could be wrong but I'm assuming. Let's see if he can play. If he doesn't ole the best DE in the country due to confusion and get our rb or qb nailed, he will play better than Tiny did last year. Tiny's knee is hurt, yes, but he pass blocked very poorly and no one wants to admit it.

Kerbyson and Jackson have All SEC potential, Marcus Jackson use to be a starter until redshirted to give stability this season to the line. Center Crowder played a lot last year and nobody noticed the difference. I really like Kerbyson's, a former DT, mean streak. If you are going to start a true freshman, RT is the place where the QB can see if he has a problem. The only question I see is at the all important LT position where Blair was suppose to be the man but you do have a 5yr player in Gilliam there for a safety valve. Outside of RT all other positions are filled with Juniors and one Senior. I do honestly believe that these players finally have the opportunity to start and will do so with a renewed enthusiasm and energy. I am excited to see what they can do with better running backs and receivers on the edges that defenses will have to respect. The only question we have is at QB. Worley would be fine if he didn't throw like a baseball pitcher with his long wind up, hopefully the coaches have worked on him about getting the ball out quicker and accurately to take pressure off the line like Coach Cut did in 2004 with Eric Ainge.

According to CBS Sports InsideSTL.com "Projected starters Mack Crowder (center), Kyler Kerbyson (guard) and Marcus Jackson (guard) have a combined 53 games played over their careers." That actually sounds pretty good.

Coach Cut was at Ole Miss in 2004.

Ainge, Swain, Smith & company beat his Rebs in Oxford.

Perhaps you meant 2006 :)

I have said this in another thread but I'd love to see the coaches role with this front 5 for a few days and see how they like it:

LT: Blair-Kendrick
LG: Jackson-Sanders
C: Crowder-Weisman
RG: Kerbyson-Robertson
RT: Gilliam-Thomas

Weisman is obviously the "plug and play" guy for the whole O-line. If we stay relatively healthy, Thomas, Raulerson, and Robertson, in addition to Mosley, could all take a redshirt and get bigger and more immersed in the scheme.

In two years, a starting O-line like this would be filthy:

LT: Richmond or (?)
LG: Jones or Robertson
C: Thomas
RG: Stewart or Mosley
RT: Raulerson or Hall

Even with the questions remaining at LT behind Richmond, assuming he commits, there is depth and there is potential to dominate with an O-line with three years of eligibility at most. Some would have four. So I think these young boys need to redshirt and the guys on the line this year need to grind and stay healthy. It's a win/win.
