I agree with much of what you wrote. But think the comparison with 2019 LSU football is off in a big way.
The key is what happens next. Recall, after 2019 LSU won it all, the 2020 LSU squad went 5-5, and 2021 LSU went 6-7.
As a Gator, you may be hopeful in thinking this Tennessee baseball team will just go away after this season. Fade into mediocrity.
I don't get that impression with these lads. Tony Vitello is going nowhere, and is one of the best in the business. And I don't follow baseball closely, but isn't this a young roster? Hear a lot about freshmen and sophomores during the games.
So, no. Despite your perhaps fervent desire that the 2022 season be a one-and-done kind of occurence, like LSU's football team in 2019, I think we're going to continue to lead from the front in college baseball, for years to come.
