I know we should cheer for SEC teams.....

There is a lot of "hate" on this board. I am sure most of it comes form getting all your information about the other side on fan forums. I have been lucky enough to tailgate at most of the other schools in the SEC and have never had a bad experience. We have won and lost some of those games but the "hosts" were gratious in every way. Even when my wife broke her foot at the Florida game afew years ago, the fans came to my rescue and we were helped back to our hotel without incidence. If you want to cheer for a team, fine. Don't cheer against anyone. I am proud to say my kids never the opponent or the Vols, can you?

Tailgating at your church prior to watching in the chapel isn't really tailgating the way most do it.

I heard the Pope is at the game.....gave Urbie some props to ensure he makes it through the game.

As well, Hollywood is there, gonna make a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off ...this one is called Saving Urban Meyer.

I can't, in good conscience, pull for Florida or LSU. Especially after that one LSU fan came and blasted us for not representing the SEC. I'm sure some of you remember that from yesterday. I wonder how that loss tastes in their mouth today.

I have all kinds of friends who try to give me grief about us losing. I'm sure as hell not pulling for their teams. I hope Florida loses 60 to nothing.

I have been tailgating since I was in the school in the sixties. I imagine I have done enough to get a basketball player arrested and more. I am amazed how much better the tailgating atmosphere is on other campuses, espicially since Mike Hamilton took over.

I guess the bottom line is that I should not expect the people here to have the class the Eric Berry does. Oh well, to each his own!

Very classy. Belittle everyone then close with a copout.

I'm glad you sing kumbaya with our opponents at their tailgates, but that ain't for me. Screw the bad guys.

There is nothing I'd like more than for Florida to lose tonight. But right now the Bearcats are playing horrible.

Whoa sonny... this is a game we are talking about. My definition of "bad guys" is a little different from yours. You best be careful or you will be lying next to Urby getting a bypass like him after the game.

You're lost and you also happen to be the one here giving lectures. Get over yourself and you won't have to worry about me not giving a crap about your pregame Sunday School meetings and singalongs.

Interesting... I am the one giving lectures? I offered my opinion, which is what this thread was about. You disagreed. Fine. My point was that I thought Eric Berry's remark was classy. You don't, fine.

The idea that the "classy" thing to do is cheer for teams from your own conference is ridiculous. If you want to do it because you think it makes the SEC look stronger - fine. It's not some display of honor.

Wrong again. You said, "I should not expect the people here to have the class that Eric Berry does." That's real classy.

I'm assuming you're calling those of us classless who refuse to hold hands with our SEC foes and cheer them on.

Like BPV said, "Screw the SEC!"

GO VOLS!

I'd like to make Crompton eat Tebow's jockstrap just so he can get a taste of a champion.

I did not say that. I said what Eric Berry said was classy. But I suspect you are right. I think the main reason I have cheered for the SEC is that it makes the conference look stronger. That seems to be a good enough reason for me. I am pulling against Meyer for resigning because of his love for his family and faith. Then backtracking because if his love for his "boys".
