Butch Jones will win on the hill. He rebuilt Cincy, and stole Kenbrell Tompkins from us. I will support Mr. Jones, because he's won before and will do it again!

We must remember he turned down 2 schools to come here becaused he wanted to. I had rather have someone who wants this job than some big names trying to get more money.

Tauren Poole - Word on the street is that he is more player friendly than our ex-coach, thats a good change if true.

Leonard Little - "Im just ready to see a Stout, Sound defense back in Knxville.”

Butch Jones - "It is truly an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Vol Nation!"

Yea, I would too if the person on the other line offered more money. Its not because he wanted to be here.

Colorado and Kentucky? Good God.

How expectations have changed. Some of you people would have been thrilled if we hired the janitor over in TBA.

I like that he has won every place he has been. He is also good at player development. Watch we are going to see players who normally weren't productive be players who can provide depth.

He had CMU at 10-2 his last season there.
If he was winning with B Kelly's recruits why didnt they win in year one?
He has better class then kelley and kept Cinci relevant.
If he can bring in a quality staff and recruit i think we found ourselves a winner

This is awesome! Have you guys heard of the new construction changes at Neyland Stadium that Cheek, Hart, and the BOT are planning with the new hire of Butch Jones? They are going to improve the view of the Tennessee River from certain points on campus by removing the upper deck at Neyland. There's no need for 100,000 plus seats anymore.

This hire is a joke. Listen, he's a solid coach, but can anyone honestly say they are excited for the spring game, that he will generate immediate excitement on the recruiting trail, that he will bring a buzz back to our program, that he will increase or unite our fanbase, and the answer is no!!! He is not a proven winner in a big time conference. The Big East is the laughing stock of the BCS, and we were dying to hire coach from there. He's beat 1 top 25 team. I'm sorry, but this hire should unite us, not divide us. It should excite us, not cause us to say come on guys let's give him a chance!

I've always supported my university as a lifelong vol fan and alumni, but I've had it. This decision not only hurts our program, but it hurts the city of Knoxville economically. Knoxville had a buzz when I went to college here in the 90s. Game days were exciting. Now it's a beautiful place to live with great people and complete apathy for a once proud program among very proud fans.

Compare this guys record with Dooleys.. Not even close to similar.. This guys a winner wherever he's been.. I guess u would've been bummed with brian Kelly had we gotten him a few years ago..

Oh well, keep the hope alive for Gruden or whatever I guess..

His job is to win football games. Give him a chance or GTFO.

Screw all you NEGAVOLS tired of hearing it. Support your team or GTFO. Give the man a damn chance. You sound like an absolute idiot talking about what he is going to do and you have no idea who he is other than google. I'm guessing you have only seen him coach 1 game UT vs. UC STFU

I really, really encourage everyone who is a negavol or has some negative thoughts about our program, to take a look back at the results of the games that were played between 1977 - 1984, when Majors was the coach.

The program had a few high moments and ALOT of low moments during that time period, then in 1985, we began to hit our stride and win.....

I say we should give our support to the program during this down time.....

We need consistency in the staff and we need to get lucky and unexpectantly land a few recruits. We also need the staff to get the 3* and 2 * players, coached up. For instance, I am positive that Chris White, the defensive back from the 1985 team, was not a highly recruited player, yet he was All American in 1985 and had 11 interceptions that season, which was a 12 game season. Coach them up!!!

I will give this guy a chance, but again, we shouldn't have to a google our coach past his three years at Cincinatti or ask fans to give him a chance. Those two things mean that he's not a proven winner at a a big time level! Big East vs. SEC = no comparison!

Why not go the Greg Roman route ala NFL if you want an unproven winner that at least brings buzz or drop more money on a higher level coach. It's not Butch Jones fault, but he will be fighting an uphill battle that shouldn't be fought. Our administration and BOT dropped the ball big time. JMO.:peace2:

I was a Dooley skeptic ...his record indicated that he was a loser. I was still open to give him a chance ..until I saw the product he point on the field

winners have to start some where right ?

I extend the same chance to CBJ, Except he is a proven winner .
