I lost my job

& I have no idea on what to do! I have bills coming in 2 weeks and I have a 16 month at home as well. Temp agencies won't know anything until Monday afternoon that's when comapanies usually call. I got let go for the most ignorant reason. It really broke my heart and now I'm left scrambling. So I do wanna ask if anyone on here who owns a business is hiring? I'm 24 worked in two factories and I also have experience managing and working with animals (Alligators). If anyone knows of a place please let me know.
All security companies are hiring seasonal officers right now.

These crappy situations so often end up being blessings in disguise and you end up in a situation that leads to great things you couldn't have foreseen. It's worked out for me that way before. You may be looking back in five years saying this was the best thing that ever happened to you. Keep your chin up and stay positive. I sincerely wish you good fortune.

I live In East Tennessee. 30 miles south of Knoxville. I have a little over 1500 saved. Been a rough morning. Thank you guys so much .

It's not anything great, but they are opening a new Walmart in Knoxville. It's $10-$17 an hour starting out, until you can find something else.

Filing for unemployment tomorrow and to the douche. I pay for insurance.

I don't think he was trying to be a douche. Many times when you lose your job you lose your benefits, including insurance. Tenncare can be a great bridge till you get insurance with a new employer.

You live in East TN.

Resolute is doing some hiring at the moment.

Google Resolute jobs in East TN. Good gig esp if you have exp in manufacturing.

this may come across douchey but I promise I've been burnt on this type of stuff before. Before I spend too much energy on looking and asking peers, what did you get fired for?

You don't have to get too personal, but red flags go up for me when people throw out the "bs reason for being fired." Sometimes it's legit bs, so don't think I'm accusing you. Just being careful before I recommend.

I was let go for being late 20 mins because my girlfriend had to be rushed to the ER and i didn't wanna leave her. We are expecting and it was a scare. They have a strict policy about tardiness and with all the commotion I forgot to call and let them know.

Ok, not trying to be a douche either but did you have a pattern of being late or anything like that? Because you're making it sound like it's one strike and you're out. I'm not saying it doesn't exist but that's some level of strict that is ridiculous.

He said he didn't call them. Some companies have a one strike rule when it comes to being late and not notifying.

Generally speaking most companies have a strict policy on NCNS. My company is fairly liberal with it compared to most. We terminate after the 3rd NCNS, or two in a row is considered job abandonment. Usually HR will reach out though and if there are extenuating circumstances they won't count it against them.

Then I'd say it's probably better you find another job. That's ridiculous for 20 minutes and you were involved in a medical emergency.

So if you had been in a wreck and needed medical attention, you're going to get fired if they aren't the first people you call?
