I need a new job

You're young, I'm old. Been in the managed healthcare field for 32 years and was burnt out many years ago. Wish I would have followed the advice in the book "Do what you love the money will follow". Life is too short and I envy those folks that truly love their jobs.

It may not be for you, but their are civil service jobs with the milirary. A contracting officer (civilian position) might be an interesting change of pace. Does require you to sign a mobility statement.
After you complete their training and certified, your pay grade is GS-11 with advancement to GS-13 fairly quickly, unless something has changed in the past couple years.
We do not want finance people in our contracting field :)

Manager of a finance company. Burned out because this business is putting up with a TON of stupidity. I mean a TON. And I just want to do anything that doesn't get me screamed at by a customer every 45 minutes.

I deal with finance company managers every day. I know exactly what you're talking about. I'd bet that you work for a large chain.

For those burned out by office jobs, I suggest migrant farm worker. Someone needs to turn the tables and start stealing those jobs from the illegals. Work outdoors while making a political statement all at the same time.

Good call, I'm going to move to Mexico City and sit on my lunchbox in front of Lowe's asking people if they need odd jobs done.

You would be correct. And that would put you either in insurance or the car business. Amiright

Yep... That would put me in the credit insurance business.

I'm constantly amazed at the pressure that the large chains put on managers. Have you worked for more than one? Good managers are a commodity and I've seen a change of scenery do wonders for people.

I am looking forward to retiring from my office job in about 7 months, and I would be happy to go back to working in a land surveying crew like I used to do.

Burnt out as hell. Work in finance. Someone show me the light

I hear porn... errrm, I mean the adult film industry pays men quite well as long as you have the right "credentials". And by "credentials", I mean that "you're qualified", and by "qualified" I mean... well, if you're not sure you should just go check it out.

If you need a reference or have questions just check with salutethehill. We all know what his screen name is really referring to, along with his references to "raising the flag" and "old glory". :)
