I need basketball season.

I think they can be pretty dang good...but my expectations will remain mildly low compared to some I've seen.

Win some bigger games (say 3/5 of the bigger non-con and above a couple games over .500 in the SEC), don't drop any gimmes, and get in the tourney with a decent seed. Do that and I'm satisfied.

I do like the schedule in that there are multiple opportunities for the team to prove themselves in big games.

I'm with you UTCVOL and don't understand all this arguing back and forth.....The football only fans are really negative and the basketball only fans act overly sensitive.

It's almost like a hipster movement. I don't get it at all.

Really? Did you happen to be at the game yesterday and see the number of sports teams that were honored on the field for winning their conference championship?

Did you notice it was mostly, if not all, women teams? We have one of the best, if not the best, women's programs in the country. I think the basketball and baseball Vols are about to rejoin them on the men's side...if only the football team would.

It was, but they're still part of the athletic department, so saying all Tennessee sports suck is just a bit inaccurate.

Glad we have the basketball forum. The football forum makes me wonder why some people are even fans.

This. It seemed like all off season it was simetimes a competition to show who'd been the best fan for the longest. Now that we have ONE loss, the fair weather fans show their true colors. The basketball forum is where the cool kids hang out.

Don't worry, that'll be the basketball forum soon enough. Hell, the "goodbye cuonzo" thread slis still going strong.

Make no mistake, there WILL be a full-blown meltdown after our first loss.
