I only watched the second half of GS game

Losing bad to unc is one thing but it's worse getting blown away by an 0-9 team in the second half
We didn't get blown away, though, by GA Southern. We were up 28 at the half. In the second half, we experimented with some different lineups and a couple guys took their foot off the gas.

We trailed UNC 61-39 at the half. I just think you may be prone to hyperbole to call last night's game...an 19-pt win, mind you...the ugliest game you've seen in 45 years.

Wade made the SECT finals in his 2nd year. 9-21 after the regular season and almost made the NCAAT. Best the Mississippis and Georgia before Bama blew UT out in the finals to finish year 2 of 5 12-22. 3-1 in that SECT.

Wade Houston had a terrific backcourt with Allan Houston and Lang Wiseman and a good small forward in Corey Allen.

We sold our soul just to get his kid. As much as I liked Allan, it just wasn’t worth it. Terrible teams

Wade Houston was Denny Crum's lead assistant at Louisville.

I believe that Crum (a UCLA assistant to Wooden) would have been a good choice to replace Mears when he resigned.

I was at the game too. It was awful in the second half. Poor shouting, poor rebounding

Yes. 5-22 was Wade’s 5th and final year (the only one without Allan). Allan’s final game was a 40-101 loss at KY in the SECT. A revenge game for them after losing on a 4-point possession by UT a few weeks earlier.
I was at that Kentucky win. My first game at TBA. The 4 point play was amazing.

Coach said the first half of the UNC game was the worst he’s had a team play since he’s been here…not anymore. Second half last night was atrocious. Some of it due to the competition. Some due to officiating letting them beat us to death. It was just a bad night of ball. Felt like I just left a scrimmage between two random division 3 teams
While waiting for the game on ESPN+, I watched the Long Island UMASS-Lowell game. Made the comment that it looked like 2 pretty good High School teams. I would take watching it over the second half of our game last night. How the hell do you shoot 8.33 % from 3-pt even if you are not trying??????? It was pathetic. We looked disinterested at best.

And then we made it to the finals of the SEC tournament
That was the 90-91 season we lost 22 games that year if we had of beat Bama in the SEC tournament championship game we would’ve got the automatic NCAA tourney bid with a record of 13-22 lol. Most of Wade Houston’s tenure was abysmal he was really a good nice guy but a bad coach a disciple of Denny Crum.

Thanks. Already been corrected once. Good recruiter. Terrible coach

About as bad as UNC 1st ½, yes. I know it's hard to stay motivated up 25 @ ½ against an 0-8 mid major. But, we were bad. I think they got it to 13 with 5 or7 min to play.
Something is seriously off with this team. Can we win on the road?

I hope so. I think the Wisconsin win was nice. And the losses have been against 3 teams in the top nine. Hopefully they’ll be ready to play LATE Saturday night😴😴.

How much have you followed college basketball, and in particular, Tennessee basketball. Not trying to be a smart ass, but just wondering after reading multiple posts. Would you consider yourself a casual fan, a devoted fan, or you explain-it-fan?

I was trying to be a smart azz, I guess, above. 👆 I can see younger or newer fans freaking out to some degree over a 7-3 record with no wins on the road or at neutral venues. But the metric based rating systems keep me centered. …most years… 😎

If they are freaking out about 9-0 Ole Miss, they need to check those five single possession wins and who they were against.

Yeah, except we beat Wisconsin on the road and Syracuse neutral-site. That aside, I do respect your opinions, Chuckster.

I think my original reply to him should have been in blue.😂 I was being a bit facetious but trying to be cordial. 🙄

It would have been 13-21 had UT won that SECT.

Wade was making a lot of money with his trucking company based in Louisville. He only worked part time as UT’s coach. Allan might have done as much coaching here as Wade did.
